How many singer/songwriters exist in Switzerland? Certainly not 280. But that is the number it should be, if you wanted to compare Switzerland with the Faroe Islands. Finally, something is happening. Joe Tschudi is determined to put an end to the singer/songwriter-drought in Switzerland.
Singer/songwriter, power-pop-ballads, indie-pop, however you wish to call Joe Tschudi’s debut album “date with the fate”, is above all a musical masterpiece of someone nearly unknown. Those who know Joe Tschudi are not afraid to compare him with greats of the genre such as Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley or Ryan Adams.
Not only is Joe Tschudi a gifted songwriter, he also brings an interesting background with him. Originally from Toggenburg (Switzerland), he moved to Barcelona two years ago, where he creates, influenced by the Mediterranean flair, new computer programs and of course, fantastic new songs. Two worlds collide with each other. On one side you have the cold world of software programming and on the other you have Tschudi’s delicate, heart warming and highly sensitive music, both depending on each other to define one another. Joe Tschudi moves in both of them with stunning security.

Wieviele Singer/Songwriter gibt es in der Schweiz? Sicher nicht 280. So viele müssten es aber sein, wenn man die Schweiz mit den Färöer Inseln vergleichen wollte. Nun tut sich aber endlich etwas. Joe Tschudi macht sich auf, der Singer/Songwriter-Dürre in der Schweiz Abhilfe zu schaffen. Singer/Songwriter, Power-Pop-Balladen, Indie-Pop, wie auch immer man Joe Tschudis Debüt-Album «date with the fate» bezeichnen möchte, es ist aber vor allem eines: ein musikalisches Meisterwerk eines nahezu Unbekannten! Jene, die Tschudi kennen, schrecken daher nicht davor zurück, ihn mit Szene-Grössen wie Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley oder Ryan Adams zu vergleichen.
Joe Tschudi bringt aber nicht nur gekonntes Songwriting mit, sondern auch eine interessante Biographie. Joe Tschudis in Eigenregie komponierte und produzierte Debüt-Album«date with the fate» geizt nicht mit süchtig machenden Pop-Balladen. Das Herz blutet, vom Himmel schüttet es wie aus Kübeln, die leicht beschwingte Melancholie der Musik drückt unmittelbar wahrnehmbar auf das Gefühlskleid des Hörers. Man schwebt von Song zu Song, von Ohrwurm zu Ohrwurm und denkt sich zum Schluss, wie konnte solch ein Talent so lange verborgen bleiben?
