"If you're looking for jazz music - fusion in particular- that's not only out of the ordinary but boundary-breaking, genre-expanding and mind-altering, look no further. Joe Venegoni presents jazz dulcimer with fresh, striking new color. If your associations with this instrument are solely Appalachian, Celtic or New Age, here is a new connotation, a new perception of this penetrating instrument you will not only appreciate but savor as well. Adding a haunting color that cuts through pulsating, undulating electric qualities, the dulcimer- as we find out in Venegoni's music, holds quite remarkable jazz potential."

Artistic Statement:
Describing Venegoni's music, one tends to revert to motion words such as propulsion and momentum and flow. On its surface, Venegonis music makes an honest claim upon the universe of dance: he fashions it using elemental motifs germane to swaying Brazilian sambas, as well as rollicking Appalachian reels, and strutting Caribbean street dances.
Venegoni's compositions might convey the feeling of a purposeful departure, and the gathering momentum of an eventful journey, with fleeting, lyrical reflections along the wayside. This sense of motion in his music no doubt makes a forceful play upon the imagination of his audience.
