The Lonely Oneshave been comprised of amazing musicians over the years, its been an honor to play with each of them and have them record on the records.
Cats like Mike Malone, Kid Ramos, Dennis Green, Wado, Steve "Sully" O'Sullivan, Gregory "Smog" Boaz, Scott Lambert and so many others. Its been a lot of fun and I have learned so much. They have all made me the blues man that I am today.
Each song on every recorded allbum, though unique in style, have an underlying roots feel that live at the core of each composition. Joe Wood evokes a unique style and powerful performing presence.
Joe Wood has been honored to share the stage and invited to perform with some of the greats including BB King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker Jr., Ray Manzarek (of the Doors) and George Thorogood.
Influenced by Patty Smith, John Doe, Jim Morrison and the Doors, Albert King, Son House, Bob Marley and Alice Cooper.
His tenacious writing and arrangement style combined with a unique Morrison-like voice will mysteriously journey the audience from one song to the next.
To add to the eight recorded albums already on his discography, his current roadhouse blues band, Joe Wood and The Lonely Ones, released the 2004 self-title 'The Lonely Ones' (which has sold over a thousand albums, to date). The 2006 release 'Blues Out of Long Beach, CA' proves Joe Wood has developed a solid blues style to serve notice to even the most die-hard blues fan. He has learned from the lates and the greats and, once again, breaks the boundaries set...by genre.
