joey camacho is one of western canada's up and coming dj's in the underground house music scene. With his range of style, consistent mixing, and love for the music he continues to thrive in a genre that only a few can. born in orange county, california, and raised in calgary, alberta, he stepped behind his first set of decks at age eighteen. starting out with a very progressive sound, he travelled across western europe for nearly a year and formed an openess to all genres of music, coming home eager to share what he had heard. upon meeting mikey da roza in 2001, they formed AQUA AUDIO, and rendered a house night at an afterhours club in Calgary. it hosted many memorable after parties with local djs and international talent. after nearly a year, AQUA AUDIO decided to leave the night and move onto greener pastures. teaming up with ben fuller at skybar, the team hosted the city's best one-off parties and weekly events. from HOME fridays to special events showcasing international talent, AQUA AUDIO became famous for its classy nights and dirty house music. And now, in 2007, as AQUA AUDIO continues to evolve with its apparel, merchandise, and special events, it continues to provide the unforgettable moments in the club scene. alongside, joey continues to rework his style of music. now famous for his varied sets, they can be summed up in three words: deep, tribal, funk. his influences span from the dirty, funky sound of darren emerson and roger sanchez, to the deep, groovy sound of miguel migs and kaskade. he has played alongside deejay's such as Tyler Stadius, Satoshi Tomiie, Benny Benassi. Fred Everything, Kevin Yost, Max Graham, DJ Heather, Colette, Felix Da Housecat, Bob Sinclar, John Jones (Hed Kandi), Stonebridge (Hed Kandi) and many others.
