Sounds Like
People have told me I sound like John Mark, John Sebastian, George Harrison, and Jack Johnson, but I guess it depends on the song. If you have any ideas let me know.
I am a singer/songwriter originally from Downey, California and for 24 years a resident of Idyllwild. My primary musical genres are contemporary pop/folk, acoustic blues, jam band, alternative, and relaxation music.
Since I moved to Idyllwild I've gigged with lots of friends (see left) and most recently I'm part of a trio called DoRoJo, with Don Reed on mandolin, dobro, and guitar, and Robin Rabens on acoustic bass. We have an album called Aroma Pie, which was recorded live at Idyllwild's Cafe Aroma (learn more about it at joeylatimer.com.)
I play mostly around the Idyllwild area, where I've averaged 50-100 gigs/year--most within a few minutes of the house. We have started up again every Friday night at Arriba Mas Fina Mexican Food Restaurant, which is a local hot spot for hikers, rock climbers, fans of jamming music, and the place to get Idyllwild's best margaritas! Arribas burned down in a fire and after much red tape has been rebuilt. Way to go Jose!
Hallo Joey, thank you for your friendship! Your music is great! Please visit my HP: www. cultevents. de and sign the guestbook if you like!
Music has always been a place where anything is possible - a refuge, a magical world where anyone can go, all kinds of people can come together, and anything can happen. We are limited only by our imagination. I believe that what we do and learn inside the world of music can affect what goes on in the world in a big, positive way. music is so important - like food and water. There are so many possibilities, and many doors yet to be opened. (Bill Frisell)
