JOEY MONTANA
His name is Joey Montana, definitively one of the hottest newest stars of Latin music. At 24 years of age, he has broken ground in Central, South America, Mexico, and United States as well as in Europe.
He comes again to the US, armed with his lyrical abilities and explosive personality, in order to make a name for himself in the ever so popular and growing urban/Latino market, leaving behind his former group of "La Factoria". His original name is Edgardo Antonio Miranda Beiro, born in Panama the 3rd of May 1982; his passion for music began at the age of 12 with his main musical influence deriving from reggae dance hall, reggae in Spanish now known to all as "Reggaeton", listening to the pioneers of this genera like Chicho-Man, Nando-Boon, Renato Gaby, and last but not least, El General.
Entering himself into college, he studied Neurological Rehabilitation as well as Physical Therapy, however, his passion for the music drove him to audition for a local musical production under the direction of the local radio station called FACTORIA ..1, under the supervision of Producer "D.J. Pablito", giving Joey Montana his first opportunity to record professionally and a major production of various artists. From that point, he divided his studies and his musical career excelling in both.
Joey participated en various productions with renowned producers in Panama and across international borders such as "El Chombo" and "D.J. Pablito" and contributed to projects such as "Planet Ganja 3", "Mafia", "El Impenio", "La Banda", "El Pentagono", "Excorcismo", "El Clan" and more. Not only was Joey Montana able to cause a movement in his country, but internationally in countries like Colombia, Venezuela, Central America, Mexico, and England.
In the year 2000, DJ Pablito, associated with another producer decided to form a group utilizing the former name of an older production called "La Factoria", which consisted of 3 Panamanian artists, one being Joey Montana (formerly known as MC JOE), and his companions, Dempra and Joycee. Initiating his international musical career, he began with a 54 concert tour in Colombia in a span of 3-4 months. Success trailed Joey Montana in Venezuela where his participation in "Miss Venezuela", one of the most prestigious events in the country led him to obtaining a 25 concert tour. He swept all of Central America and broke ticket sales in Aruba.
He becomes part of one of the most important groups in Mexico at this time, participating in soap operas such as "Clase 406"; shortly there after following a 74 concert tour within Mexico. They presented themselves 3 times in the famous festival "Acafest" in Acapulco, Mex., Massive events such as "Concierto EXA" in the National Auditorium in front of over 40,000 screaming fans. Performing with other artists with the likes of Thalia, Paulina Rubio, Alex Sintek, Cristian Castro, etc? They achieved Gold status internationally at 100,000 copies sold and were nominated as "Group of the Year" in the important music awards "OYE".
After sharing his talents with us for 5 successful years, Joey Montana has decided to pursue a solo career, with his next albumn titled "Sin Cadenas", interpretated, Without Chains, which contains songs that you can dance to, move to, grove to, and more than anything, on a commercial level catering to all with crossover, along side with grand artists featuring Angel Lopez (formally of Son By 4). Sure to be a hit with his desire to rise above all motivates his every move, along with his carisma and gauking attractive looks, success is sure to follow.
