Hmmm... Will keep this limited as it could get out of hand.... Here's some (in no order): De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Sonic Youth, Jimi Hendrix, DJShadow, Ninja tune, Grand Central, Tribe called Quest, Blackalicious, Jane's Addiction, Eric B and Rakim, Beastie Boys, 4-Hero, London Elektricity, Ugly Duckling, Manchester, Rawtenstall, Reading..... I'll leave it there for now..
Sounds Like
funky, jazzy beats with a sense of fun. Shake your ass- don't stroke your chin....
Joey Yeah Yeah is originally from Lancashire, but now residing in Reading (where he misses Hollands Pies dearly). He became involved in production when, as a guitarist he could not find a bassist or drummer, and decided to take it into his own hands. Despite being influenced by a diverse range of music, Joey is all about the groove, and is not afraid to put some fun into his funk. His debut ep 'Double Positive EP' was received warmly, gathering support from Djs and radio airplay including play on Norman Jay's Giant 45s show. Currently writing and remixing,
Joey is looking to collaborate with vocalists of all kinds, and musicians who want to spread the funk...
