About me:
..      I'm a philosopher, photographer, and Adventurer finding beauty in the chaos of life.
I fled from the torment of the Midwest and somehow ended up on the West Coast, and now I'm afraid to leave. Generally on this page you'll find some of the things I've observed that I feel need to be brought forward. So I do that in whatever manner strikes me. While many times the manner I choose may offend, I don't get very much hate mail.
Running the gamut of comedic to serious and/or useless, my blog is a loosely arranged series of short stories, concepts, themes, and various bullshit with purpose. Perhaps the most central theme is: "The world has no need for the otherwise unopposed tsunami of stupidity, stop making it worse."
Nothing is sacred, and everything is up for evaluation. Generally harsh evaluation. While morals may have a place in the law, deities do not. Hell, if I hadn't read the Greek Tragedies and mythologies I probably would be as amoral as most Christians. Anyone who starts a war over the Iliad needs psychological help. I'd certainly say the same about the Bible, the Torah, the Communist Manifesto, Grimm's Fairytales, the Prince, or the Rebublik. All are worth a read. None are really worth stabbing people over.
Hopefully the whole process proves amusing enough to stick with you and challenges you think for yourself. That's really my goal here (plus, it's fun).
..Life is pain. Embrace it...
Who I'd like to meet:
People who follow the rules:
1a) Live in reality
This is the most basic but also the hardest rule, so it can only be first.1b) Don't get shot
Avoid the rosy glasses, they may make things look nice, but they change nothing and put you off guard. If you don't know what's really going on around you, you might get shot. Some times things are nice or going well, some times they suck or are deteriorating fast. Know the difference at all times.
You are the most important person in every situation, do what you can to not only survive it but come out as best you can.2) Don't let your friends get shot
Your life and well being is dramatically improved by those you keep around you, inversely to their distance. The absolute most selfish thing you can do, is do the best you can to get the best result for your friends. Without the people who support you, your life would suck. Be nice to your friends, and burden yourself for your close friends because you will be bettered for it through them as they you.3) Avoid crazy people
Some crazy people have guns, most don't need guns. People who are crazy may well not even follow rule 1, and they are really dangerous. Escaping them entirely is impossible, they are simply everywhere. Also, they've practiced "not being crazy" extensively so you must take the subtle hints. Limit your exposure where you can, and diffuse them if the opportunity arises.4) Don't shoot anyone.
If you've gotten to this point on the list, then no one has to get hurt. It may be helpful to remember a terrible life is worse then death. There are plenty of things you can do to further your goals that don't involve committing foul acts.5a) Keep a gun handy.
Maybe be nice to other people, they may not try to shoot you then. But beware with this method, 'they' may just be pretending to be nice to shoot you or your friends later. If you're nice to them anyway you need to have a good handle on rule 1.
If you've gotten this far in the list, you probably don't have much of a problem, try to keep it that way.5b) There are no bullets flying, rejoice!
It's important to remember that problems lie ahead, and you'll have to deal with them. Don't think that all your good fortune can't just come crashing down with one bone-headed move if you're unprepared. Put some money away. Learn how to defend yourself. Learn how to better survive. Keep an eye on those douche bags pretending to be nice.
The trigger fingers have steadied, and the weapons have been put down. Take some time to enjoy your moment of peace. They don't come along all that much, so be sure and take them when you can. Travel. Toast your friends. Figure out what's important to you, and then do that.6) Make more friends
This is just a reminder about the first 3 rules. You need to make your life better, and people you can count on and trust are the best way to do that. Sure, you have to be burdened with helping them, and trusting them, but that's not really that hard is it? Everyone has different skills, and you can't have them all. Someone knows something, or can do something, that will help you with every point on this list, and that is incredibly valuable.
What you have to know about trusting people is that time is long, if you are patient the validity of trust will come out. Especially if you're all following rule 1, 10 times over for rule 2, and 5 more for rule 3. Someone will eventually find out a breach of trust, and eventually the betrayed will find out as well. It actually turns out that it's better never to betray or lie to anyone, remarkably easier too. Except the crazies of course, their actions are unlimited and you in turn need not limit your actions in dealing with them. That is more difficult of course, especially since there are so many.

New year's... well... new. I've decided to attempt to quit my smoking habit, we'll see how far it goes this time. I've been doing good so far though. Good luck on the video blog.
I've been thinking about putting together my own gig called "Team Sparta", an organization of well built men in red capes and what not that roam around the city causing all sorts of fun things to happen, such as "Spartan Swimteam investigates Your Swimming Pool!" and "Spartan Food Drive".
I think it has potential.
I just want to see a phalanx move through some rich dude's house into the swimming pool.
Have a good one. Don't get shot. Looking forward to new GrimAdvice in the new year.
new pictures are for proactive people that enjoy changing their online face.
Maybe I'll make a stick figure. That's about as much effort as I really feel like putting into anything right now.
I'm in a slump. It's the holidays. I should be hibernating right now.
So how's your end?
Hey you! I'm open to doing resource. In fact, that is one of my goals for D2. How do you really feel about our unit? We need to come up with some sort of Christmas party this year. As far as mountain biking, I've never gone before. I don't even own a bike! And our weekends are opposite cuz I'm working this weekend. Have fun!!
Thanks, crazy. NO minivan, YET.
I love being a mom. It helps when I happen to have the cutest damn kid EVER! :) Not being too conceited, am I?
Hope all is well with you.
