Michael Jackson, Usher, Timbaland, Shihan, India.Arie, John Legend, Maxwell, Alicia Keys, My own life experiences, challenges and decisions and a few other poets that I got the chance to know.
Also, all the children in the world that are born with Spina Bifida every day.
I hope I can make an impact to others as well :)
"Johee" (JOEY) was born in June 26, 1987 in Miami Fl. Her family is from Colombia and she is very proud of everything that her parents have done for her. She grew up loving music and she started to write poetry when she took an English class in 9th grade and that is when she found out that she was good in writing.
Even though she went through a lot of obstacles when she was younger, she has always had a positive attitude towards things.
" of course I've gone through a lot when I was younger, so I don't think anything is impossible now. I laugh at all the things people said I couldent do. Also, I think that people who try so hard to put me down just look stupid because I don't think anyone can make fun of me more than I can. I already know what they want to say." Johee has been featured in several online magazines and radio shows. Right now, at the age of 21 all she can think of is doing what she loves. " All, I want to do is inspire others and let them know that you can do anything. Especially to those who don't have any motivation to do what they want because of any situation they have been through".
She started her own YOUTUBE channel a few months ago and it has been going well for her. "I'm surprised people like what I say. I really don't care what people think when they watch my videos because they don't understand where I am coming from and the reason why I am doing these videos."
Now she is currently going to school at MDC in Miami Fl and she is very close to getting her associates degree in Biology. " I majored in Biology because I have the passion to be a forensic scientist." I love it all and I just want to do it all".

"And I"
I stood in the middle of the road..
I looked to my left and my right..
Two directions as I felt wind come from behind..
Here I seek one path to what will become of me..
Here I seek to one path that will make of me..
Two dark and lonely roads waiting for me to reach..
I am pensive of what I will get to see..
One full moon staring at me..
The moon shines through this skin..
I can hear crickets calling..
Where have they been..
And I smile to the future..
And I smile to my past..
I smile to my present..
Here you are at last..
Owls between bushes..
They can't stop the curiosity..
The sound of cracking wood..
As the wind tackles the resting trees..
Far away chirping...
I can hear the river flowing....
I can't believe this is becoming real to me..
I just want to know which will be the right key..
The right key to success,, love, and being healthy..
And I smile to the people that love me..
And I smile to the people that are my enemies..
And I smile to the people that look out for me..
And I smile to the people that are there for me..
You are the lucky ones that were planned to be in this life...

Johee! How is it going? I haven't talked to you in a long time. How is life treating you? I truly hope to read a book by you in the future. lol. As for me, my third book, The Flower that Wasn't Meant to Blossom is set to be published in the next two months. I am stoked because this is my baby project, centered around my childhood. In any event, comment back. I'd love to see how you are doing.
We met awhile back (probably a year or so now) on Urbis (I believe) and as I recall you are a poet of sorts. Checking out your myspace page it seems you have kept yourself quite busy, which pertains to why I'm here. I'm working on a blog/multi-media exposure project with a college writing partner and we are headhunting talent. Although we are casting actors, we are more interested in writers (especially female, and especially comedic--only because it's a rare combination), as well as musicians (with uncirculated, non-solicited original music). We post a topic and ask our contributors to create new pieces accordingly. Our ultimate goal is to bring these different mediums together and create a social network of sorts that allow people with several talents to generate a collective fan base and link to their sites for greater exposure. If you are interested in stretching your creativity or just create more awareness for your blog and your personal work, I would love to tell you more about it. A myspace page is currently under construction to allow direct correspondence, but for now here is the link to the Home Page and one to theFacebook Group.
I hope hope you will at least check us out and catch the vision for something that is really still in its infant stages. If it's not your thing or can't find the time, at least subscribe to the podcast and support our creative process.
