LOVE ********* **** *****
BAILEY has a gift of song in the wind that intertwinds with the Earth beneath to form a euphonious (ear pleasing) comprehension of love and friendship!!!
Like every master artist, John Bailey is determined to expose himself as authentic, timeless and innovative. He’s a song writer and musician with both conventional crooner appeal and fresh, cutting edge allure. Whether he is singing for thousands or serenading one, he is sure to capture everyone's attention with his bold and hip R&B flavor. He combines sultry-smooth vocals and a passion so intense that it seduces his listeners, taking them on an unforgettable musical journey.
A native of Dallas, Texas, John Bailey, also known to his friends and fans as J. Bailey, is a preacher’s son whose musical foundation is rooted and grounded in an early embrace of gospel music. While music has always been a love and central theme in his life, he admits the threat of his father’s belt was lovingly the driving force behind his decision to perform. He has a mix of musical influences, one being The Bailey Singers, a family gospel group that he was raised singing in as well as a host of other contemporary and iconic inspirations including Nat King Cole, John Legend, Tank, Journey, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Frank Sinatra and Sam Cooke to name a few.
Hitting the local Dallas spotlight in the winter of 2006, J. Bailey has graced the stage of many popular venues such as Brooklyn's, Michael’s, Maxwell’s, Opening Bell, Manhattan’s, 972, The Addison Improv, The Profit, O Bar, Fire House, The Embargo, The Absinthe Lounge and The Ivy Lounge among others. Those who’ve had the pleasure of hearing him sing have received a sneak preview of the sensuality and power that he is sure to breathe into his first album. With forthcoming song titles like, “Say What’s On Your Mind”, “Let Me Take You There” and “Hold On” there’s no denying this new artist has something to say that we all want to hear.
Some people call it “destiny”. Some call it “fate”. Some people say it’s a “calling”. Whatever you choose to call it, the fact is John Bailey was born to sing. He’s not sitting back waiting on doors to open. With enthusiasm, determination and self-confidence he is knocking doors down to claim his rightful place in the industry and share his gift of song with the world.
