Salsa Dancing (new) Music (see below) , Soccer, sports in general (I love to play any & all sports as long as I am on the field, can't stand to watch them), church, nature, camping, theatre, Spending time with friends & family. I have 12 nephews & nieces that I spoil as often as I can.
Music
Everything including country, rap, and black gospel but mostly into adult alternative (ie indie songwriters and folk). I attend alot of live music events and play out. I have written about 250 songs at this point with more being added slowly but surely.
Movies
LOTR, Lion Witch & Wardrobe, Pirates. Mostly anything with swords and explosions. And all the classic Disney cartoons.... mostly music, swords and explosions with comedy and parental loss. Its not a disney movie without the loss or absense of a parent on the part of the protagonist. Same goes for Monty Python & the holy grail.
Television
24, Smallville, and Stargate but I don't have much time to watch it.
Books
The Bible, LOTR, The Chronicles of Narnia (esp. Voyage of the Dawn Treader)
About me: I am a Corporate Trainer for an insurance company during the week and Singer/Songwriter on the weekends.
I play Acoustic folk somewhere between Sarah Mclaughlin, Counting Crows, David Gray, Dar Williams, and Bob Dylan mixed with some Adam Sandler. For CCM fans Chris Rice, Fernando Ortega, Sara Groves, and early Nichole Nordeman.
Right now I am learning how to Salsa Dance and will be taking lessons. So come on out and get your chance to watch me fumble around the dance floor until I get good. It will be fun either way.
Who I'd like to meet: Right now I am looking for people who Salsa dance and for a few practice partners, so if you want to learn or are learning Salsa drop a line. I can watch all I want, but it takes two people to really learn those combo moves and the turns.
Saturday, Feb 28th join us at The Hard Rock Cafe on Beale Street for a live music tournament unlike anything: Master of Microphones! 16 artists take the stage!
Hey Johnathan Moon. I am playing an acoustic show at the Shanti in Collierville tonight at 7:00 till 9:30. My guitar player Ethan Collins will be playing with me and a special guest, Kelly Hamric, will be sitting in playing and singing some songs with me. Please try to come out. The Shanti is at 336 New Byhalia Rd. in Collierville and they have awesome food. There is a coupon in the Independent Newspaper for an 8 oz Filet, which is my favorite. One of my friends sang a song with me a couple weeks ago so you never know what is going to happen. We just make sure we have fun. I hope to see you at the Shanti tonight.
On September 19 and 20 InterSession Dance and Guard Theater will present "The Harvest, ... in the shadow of Columbine", a tribute to the faith of Rachel and Cassie. InterSession is known for their visually stunning dramatic dance and color guard interpretations of stories relevant to today's generation. "The Harvest" takes an in depth look into the teenage culture, and studies the daily pressures on kids going largely unnoticed by communities. In the midst of trials and temptations, Rachel and Cassie stood up for a faith they lived for, and ultimately died for. InterSession is at the top of their game this year, winning the 2008 "Best Dance Studio of the Year" in the "Destined to Dance" awards, and adding additional gold medal winners of the Southern color guard circuit to the company. The soundtrack includes music from Flyleaf, "Across the Universe", Adema, Nine Inch Nails, The Postal Service, and more. "The Harvest" features choreography by Maxx Reed of "Dance Wars", and more cirque - style surprises! If you liked "Sabachthani", you haven't seen anything yet! Don't miss this powerful production!
You know if you would have sent a mass email declaring you're on vacation people wouldn't call and wake you up early, lol. Hope you enjoy your time off!
