JOHN BOND EVANS was born in Wootton Wawen Warwickshire England before the war, which war, however, is a closely guarded secret.
He had his first three piano lessons at the age of 8 and that was about it - three lessons. His first teacher gave up in despair after only three lessons. His next piano teacher was an attractive young lady who rented a farm cottage in the village of Wootton Wawen. Under her patience and perseverance John progressed very well and before long was able to impress family and friends giving renditions of the "Skaters Waltz" and "Oh How I'd like to be a moonbeam". Unfortunately, one afternoon he arrived for his lesson to discover the piano teacher, rather like the moonbeam, had put her skates on and done a moonlight flit. Here endeth the second lesson.
This brings us neatly to the next chapter in John's musical career. He joined the St Peter's Church Choir where he developed his vocal talents until his voice broke at the age of 13. This was nothing whatsoever to do with normal male development. it was mainly due to the fact that he, together with his choir boy friends, had discovered where the Vicar kept the communion sherry and the fact that Mr Meechun, the old retired Sea Captain - Choir Master was very generous when it came to sharing his supplying of "Navy Cut "cigarettes.
At age 15 John started piano lessons again - with a lady in Stratford he recalls "She taught me the first page of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata -had one leg and charged half a nicker a lesson". Half a nicker being an old term for ten shillings or 50p in today's money.
In his late teens and' early 20's John was able to almost instantly ruin the reputation of a further three piano teachers before deciding to buy a book on "Teach Yourself Piano".
From that moment on his piano playing flourished and before long he was writing simple tunes and boring the hell out of his friends and family.
John has since produced three full length CD's of his music, written a Musical called Vendetta", based upon James Bond 007 Special Agent. Featuring songs by Mr Bond "Shaken Not Stirred" and "In Defence of the Realm" by Miss Moneypenny "I Spy MY Man" and Q the inventor The "Q" song.
The three CD's are "Look in the Mirror of Life" "Man of Many Seasons" and "Vendetta the Musical".
