There's also a negative side."

Experience
Member of Performing Right Society and The Mechanical Copyright Society for over 35 years and still actively composing around fifty songs a year, all of which are based on the observations and experiences gained over a lifetime. My music and words reflect many of the emotions and feelings that all of us go through, but in a style that, hopefully, reaches the soul and not just the ears of the listener.
Until recently was performing with a jazz/soul/blues band called THE CLAIRE PHOENIX BAND
www.phoenixmusic.org - The band still features one of my original compositions called, "You Can't Break A Broken Heart" and I am thrilled with the vocal performance that Claire Phoenix delivers on that recording. Claire really has a stunning voice and I am certain she will get the recognition she deserves before too long.
Interest in the sweet, string-laden sounds of late 60s pop has been higher than ever recently.
Compilations such as the Fading Yellow series and Bob Stanley's Tea & Symphony have raised awareness of an entire strata of lost pop gems that were totally underestimated by the masses;
Enter John Bromley! Bromley came up through a series of successful harmony bands before scoring a number of hits as a songwriter "Come On Down" for Jackie DeShannon and a number one million selling hit in Australia for the legendary John Farnham as well as several European chart entries with a song called, "Tomorrow, Manana" which song was recorded by a plethora of acts (sixteen seperate releases!)
John was signed by hit writer Graham Dee on the strength of his song "What A Woman Does" and then recorded a series of high-quality demos and masters, some of which made up his superb 1969 album "Sing".
Legendary soul/freakbeat band Les Fleur De Lys were brought in to play on much of the album and backing vocals were provided by Sharon Tandy among others.
The album boasts a broad range of styles from ornate, baroque ballads to tough, psychedelic rockers aimed to capitalise on John's innate commercial songwriting ability.
What is a musician?
My definition of a 'musician' is that a 'musician' is not simply someone who can play a musical instrument - 'that' is a 'technician'. To me, a musician is someone who, (when they hear music) has to get up and dance, or laugh, or cry, or feel the hairs on the back of their neck stand on end ...
I AM SEEKING A MUSIC PUBLISHER OR AGENT TO PROMOTE THE MATERIAL I AM CURRENTLY WRITING
Cheers John and what with Dame Shirley & Pet Clarke on your list of credits I guess there's not much difference in our ages too (it's a wonder what 'Grecian 2000' can do for you believe me:)! Cheers again & hope you'll find time after your move to check my stuff out - Paul:)!

Thank you for your encouragement and I'm glad you liked my song "Don't Disappear". It is a special song to me because it expresses my regret that someone I love may one day cease to be a part of my life and in the song I am asking them to not ever disappear completely from my life.
John - loved your set last night and especially the new song Don't Disappear. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks for your comments too and would love to do one of your amazing songs one of these days :)
Hi John... Well I must say it's a great pleasure to talk to a fine song writer.. Mate as I'm a huge John Farnham fan, one of his nostalgic and classic songs which has stood the test of time is 'Comic Conversations' Well done there... I'm interested in regarding the song... what sort of relation do you have to the song? Were you the man out of town, or were you the man who was the naughty boy and wanting to ring her and have some 'Comic Conversations' if you know what I'm saying...? Or was it just a song that you wrote out of the blue..? It would be great to know the origins behind the song, as being a songwriter myself, I know sometimes songs can really come from a deep dark place... Personally I prefer to sing other people's songs, as I find my songs very personal to me, which makes it hard for me to share them with people.. Also, I would appreciate if you could check out my version of your song.. www.youtube.com/voiceusa I recently covered it, so you should be getting some money royalties off me (well from AMCOS) I should say... I got Australian blues legend Tim Gaze to do the acoustic guitar, and legendary Luke 'Fiddle Boy' Moller to do the violin for me on this song... As I wanted to stray away from the keyboard arrangement of this song.. As when I do covers I try to make them a part of me as well, and give my little interpretation to it... I have shortened down the song, as for one.. the album I did was a tribute to John, and since this song is a classic, I wanted to keep it simple and to the main point of your lyrics.. I recently got a remark fom your daughter Elly, (if it is your daughter that is)... letting me know that her Dad wrote this song for John... on my youtube page.. So I thought I'd try and Google you and finally try and get some background on the song.. Any feedback would be great mate... Once again, a real pleasure, and thanks very much for your precious time... P.S. If you would
I Stay Dry In The Rain. Another gem of a song I think John. Very mainstream and an example of a good song, well-crafted. If you could only get the industry bods to hear it I'm sure we'd hear it on national radio a lot! You are a consumate songwriter and you keep delivering!
Thanks for all your input and encouragement. We feel ready for the big day now - been rehearsing a lot and really excited about playing in front of a live audience. Can't wait !!!
