Bio
John Depew is now sticking his toes back into the musical ocean..... I quit playing out about a year and a half ago. I rode my bike out to Washington state where my sister lives, with the intention of staying there permanently. After two months, I moved back, intent on marrying my girlfriend, who lived in Nashville at the time, but moved back to Kansas a few months later. I moved into a tipi, and stumbled into an awesome job at the Fox Theatre here in Hutchinson. The engagement didn't work out so well. Over the past year of living in the tipi, I have had to move 5 times..... I released my second album, "Winter Queen" in February of this year. It was not a commercial production. A group of friends and I homemade all the cases from scrap fabric, and each insert was handwritten by me. We made about 35 copies. When they sell out, they will simply be sold out. I like this method of publication, and may continue similarly with my next album, "Somewhere in Between.".... I am now playing a lot privately, and writing again, having partly given up on homesteading and tipi life for the moment. I am trying to compile a band with which to perform, but all shows are solo for now. -
