I read everything if it sits still long enough and love science fiction in most of its forms.
I love to play guitar and banjo.
I don't get to see my daughter or grandkids as much as I would like.
| | Music | I have an eclectic taste in music and listen to classical, classic rock, and bluegrass most of the time. I like some country and folk songs, too | | Movies | Favorite movies include Flashdance, all Star Trek and Star Wars movies, most Mel Brooks movies, classics like Casablanca, 12 Angry Men, It's a Wonderful World, Miracle on 34th Street, African Queen, Adam's Rib, and most science fiction and action adventure movies.
I recently saw What The Bleep and The Secret and enjoyed them very much. I'm learning about the Law Of Attraction and I can see it working in my life. | | Television | Favorites include the Today Show, 60 Minutes, Meet the Press, Stargate SG1, MacGyver, original Star Trek series, West Wing (sorry to see it go), NCIS, and others. In general, if I like a show it's the kiss of death and the series will be canceled in the next season.
It is no exageration to say that the original Star Trek series changed my life. It gave me a dream of a better future and I decided to master computers. I learned to do in real life what Spock pretended to do, and I have no doubt that the library computer from Star Trek was a vision that played an important part in the birth of the Internet. | | Books | Stranger in a Strange Land, Think and Grow Rich new expanded edition, The Law of Success, The Art of War, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the entire Pern series, and hundreds of others - far too many to mention. | | Heroes | I don't have heroes. I recognize greatness in some people, but I don't worship or idolize anyone. "Hero" is a greatly-overused word these days.

About me:
A Little Background
I've done many things over the last few decades. In addition to working at a couple of psych hospitals helping adolescents, I've taught computers and programming at a couple of colleges, and owned my own computer consulting business.
I've taught hundreds of people how to use their computers more effectively and I've consulted for lots of companies ranging from individual proprietorships to top-50 international corporations.
Now, I'm a full-time caretaker for my Mom and earn my living through Internet marketing, which allows me to stay home full-time and still have money coming in.
Mom gets to live at home instead of going to a nursing home, and I get to meet new friends on the Internet.
