About me:
I am the author of Look Me in the Eye, a book about my life with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism. LMITE was an instant NY Times bestseller, and was named one of the Best of 2007 by Amazon.com. It's available in bookstores everywhere. Foreign editions are available in Australia (a RH bestseller for almost six months), England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Brazil. Translations for Italy, Malasyia, China, Spain and Portugal are coming. My next book will delve more deeply into issues of Asperger's and autism, and it will hbe illustrated by more of my entertaining stories. Look for the paperback release of Look Me in the Eye this September, and my next book later in 2009. I'm a public speaker, and an advocate for people with neurological differences. I'm a supporter and promoter of increased tolerance and understanding. Here's my regular blog which I try and mirror here on myspace. However, the Blogger version has more action in the comments. I'm also a photographer. I specialize in unposed performance images. I have a particular interest in circus, music, and theatrical performances. You can see my photos at www.pbase.com/robisonphoto Finally, I'm a car enthusiast, with a special interest in Land Rover, Bentley, and Rolls Royce cars. I have an automobile business that you can visit here: my car business Here's a sort of index for me, on the Internet: Here's my regular Google blog Here's my Official Author website Here's my car business Here I am on Facebook Here I am on Linkedin Here I am at Redroom Here's my genealogy database Here I am in the Random House index Here's some of my photography
Who I'd like to meet:
Aspergians, people on the spectrum, teachers, parents, other interested readers, Land Rover enthusiasts, British car lovers, and other interesting people

AWA welcomes ASAN President Ari Ne'eman and Board Member Paula Durbin Westby, organizer of Saturday October 31st Washington DC area protest against Autism Speaks. We'll be hearing from them about ASAN's protest at Autism Speaks' DC area walk-a-thon Saturday as well as the growing wave of protests against Autism Speaks around the country, why its happening, where its going, what its implications and importance will be for the neurodiversity movement & the autistic community. In addition, we'll be checking in with ASAN on some of their advocacy priorities inside the beltway, asking about how Autistic people will be impacted by the health reform packages being considered by Congress and what pending legislation on school abuse might have to help Autistic students.

Myspace wouldn't let me comment your blog titled: 'Asperger's and Lonliness' so I will comment it here instead. I really appreciated the sincerity and straightforward manner in which it was written and also the fact that, while it's not good that Asperger's has created so many difficulties for you, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one. Also, I found your book to be extremely enlightening in regards to my own condition.

Thank you for adding me as a friend. I am in the middle of your book. I can't put it down. My son, Indigo, has nonverbal learning disability, which is similar to AS. I have learned a lot about Indigo through your words. I am a strong advocate for parents' rights. Check out my newest website http://www.diagnosingparentsrights.com I want to spread the word to as many parents as I can. So many people do not understand their rights. I commend you for your bravery. Advocating for yourself must be harder than for someone else. Keep doing what you do. The impact is tremendous.

"March 11th? I am sorry, Captain Kirk, but I will have no time that day for your tedious neurotypical blather. For I must attend the next meeting of the Bay County Adult Asperger's Support Group. I find their discussions....most fascinating."
Mr. Spock

The March meeting of the Bay County Adult Asperger's Support Group will be held at the FSU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:00 p.m.

The Center is located in Liberty Square at 2611-A West 23rd St. in Panama City, Florida. This is an informal gathering for adults with Asperger's Syndrome/High Functioning Autism.

At February's meeting we solved all of the world's problems in just under two hours. No need to thank us.

Contact Paul McAuliffe at ravenbear47@yahoo.com for more details.

AWA Forum - Chat Room

The Asperger Women Association wants to apologize to all of you who registered at the AWA Forum and have been patiently waiting on a response. Due to a computer glitch we were unaware of hundreds of you who had pending registrations and were inadvertently missed.

I want to take this opportunity to invite you to click on the following link and we will expedite your registration ASAP. If you registered before but have had trouble signing in, please re-register so we can get the error corrected. http://z4. invisionfree. com/Apserger_Women/index. php

Please join us in making this a place where you can openly share your feelings, offer your advice, and ask for others to share suggestions to questions you have. The AWA is often asked if you have to be autistic or a woman to join. Well, the short answer is, “No & No!”

In fact, we have aspie/autie males, NT father’s & mothers, NT siblings, and NT friends, etc. who are active members of the Asperger Women Association. We even have NT family & friends Chat Rooms at the Forum. Everyone is invited to be part of the AWA community and let your voice be heard!

Please contact me personally or you may also contact Yvonne on the AWA myspace page if you have any questions and we will be happy to assist you in getting started. We will see you there!

We watched your interview on CBS this morning. Thanks for the heads up. I'm so glad you could help support your brother; by giving a great explanation of the differences in perspective.
You did a great job.
