Hi! My name is John, I am 24 years old and I play the piano. I am originally from the UK, but in September 2006 I moved to live in New York, and to study at the Manhattan School of Music, where I recently graduated from the Masters Program. Whilst there I was fortunate enough to study with two of my favorite piano players, Kenny Barron and Jason Moran. I am lucky enough to play with many people in New York, who I consider to be some of the finest musicians in the world. To find out where I might be playing check my itinerary here, or visit my website www.johnescreet.com for more detailed information. Peace - JE
Ha ha..........well that was always my second name which my family have always used. Weird huh! But i just decided at RNCM that i wanted to use the name that i really used and change it to be my first name...You can call which ever one you like im not bothered. x
Tell you what John...we always knew you would be a great jazzer but you seem to have become something just so much more than that. Good for you going to America...wise decision....
Anyway....i am determined to catch you doing a gig when you come back home!
I decided to give up the cello...got bored sitting in orchestra....i secretly always loved jazz...so for the past year i have been a jazz vocalist in manchester working my way up the neverending ladder of the jazz world....NIGHTMARE....But i i love it. x
Damn! I wish I could be there tomorrow, but I'll be in Hartford on a gig... Best of luck, and I can't wait to play, hang, or whatever...maybe we can sneak a hang in before the crazy rehearsal schedule...?
