...pretty much anybody who plays with PASSION and like they actually play the guitar for more than a piece of ass =) Honestly...that aint too challenging (ha-ha)...and it’s even easier in a "boy band"...right? No, I don’t agree that Kurt Kobain "was a great guitarist"! Unique artist....shitty guitarist.
OLDSKOOL BANDS:
QUEEN, DEF LEPPARD, JOURNEY, FOREIGNER, AC/DC...
SINGERS: STEVE PERRY, FREDDIE MERCURY, LOU GRAMM, ELTON JOHN, SEAL, Christina Aguilera, Pat Monahan...
NEW SKOOL BANDS/ARTISTS: TRAIN, GOO GOO DOLLS, TONIC, VERTICAL HORIZON, KEANE, KELLY CLARKSON, MICHELLE BRANCH, LEANN RHIMES, LIFEHOUSE
HEAVY BANDS: PANTERA (R.I.P. Darrell!), DISTURBED, old METALLICA, old MEGADETH, DREAM THEATRE, JUDAS PRIEST, old OZZY, AC/DC, DIO, SAIGON KICK.
I even dig some electronic rock bands like GARBAGE, REPUBLICA(R.I.P.), BT.
Not too crazy about Country music...but it’s sounding a little better with guys like Dann Huff and Mutt Lange producing now (ha-ha-ha)...LESS twang in the vocals and less songs about tractors and farm livin’ (ha-ha-ha)!!
So the answer is, NO...I don’t sit and listen to Dream Theatre and Steve Vai all day long :)

Guitarist John Inman has been storming the stages and studios of Dallas, TX since 1989. John has earned a reputation as a dynamic live performer as well as a technically advanced Guitarist. After spending his formative years in the local Rock/Metal scene as a self taught player, John sought out private instruction to sharpen his theory and playing skills. These studies led John to develop a passionate interest in Jazz and Fusion, while still keeping one foot firmly planted in Rock-n-Roll. John’s influences range from Randy Rhoads and Neal Schon to Frank Gambale and Al DiMeola. His ability to adapt quickly to almost any playing style is evidenced by his long time employment with DanceRegina, a high energy dance band and his recent stint with the Amy Lepard Band, a pop/R&B style group. John brings more to the table than just extraordinary chops and the ability to memorize large catalogs of playlists. He is also a talented vocalist with an amazing vocal range that has allowed him to perform as both frontman and in backing vocal positions with various bands. In 1999 John wrote and recorded his debut solo CD modeous eclectic which contained a balance of Fusion influence as well as solid melodic Rock compositions. The album scored as high as no.2 on Guitar 9 Records’ Progressive Best Sellers charts and has maintained a respectable position since it’s release. John’s trio, John Inman Netwerk instantly scored opening slots and shared billing with notable acts such as Gary Hoey, King’s X, and Dream Theater. In 2002 John released his second CD, skiesWIDEopen. This album went even further into Fusion realms as well as more intense Progressive Rock, while still keeping a strong focus on melody. SkiesWIDEopen scored as high as no.1 on Guitar 9 Records’ Progressive Best Sellers charts. John stays busy playing around Dallas with the bands !DANCeReGINA! (electronica/dance) and THE CORE (rock). John is endorsed and uses exclusively S.I.T Strings, DiMarzio pickups and accessories, and In Tune guitar picks.

So, as I understand it....we both bought ROBIN instruments (your guitar and my bass) with inverted GIMP necks. Add that to our list of common denominators (haha).
