John Kozinski began playing guitar when he was 11. After playing in rock bands in his teens, he discovered jazz at 19. During college and after he developed his jazz playing, playing with local groups in Long Island, New York. One of his early friends and fellow musicians was baritone saxophonist, Gary Smuylan, who lived nearby
John discovered natural health teachings which changed his life in his early twenties. He studied intensively natural health methods and began a career as a macrobiotic natural health counselor and teacher but he continued to play music on the side. John is one of the premier macrobiotic health counselors and teachers in the world. He works in aiding people inrecovery of a variety of major health problems. In the last years, John has returned to serious guitar practice and playing. He is a student of the great New Jersey guitarist, Bob Devos.Recently, he has began gigging in some local venues in his home area in the Berkshires of Western Massachusettes and nearby in the Pioneer Valley.
John currently is available to play jazz as an addition to a band or with his trio of upright bass, drums and guitar. Recently, he has played with several local singers.
He is also working on a fusion jazz project with electric bass and drums.
John lives with his wife, Jeanette in the Bershire Mountains of Massachusettes. They have 4 children and 3 grand children.
