John V. Landry II ( “J.L” ) - Who is the individual behind the name? The answer varies depending on whom the question is posed; but, few things are certain. Behind every name there rests an individual. Behind every individual there lies a story. Behind every story there is purpose. At just twenty-three years of age, John Landry II (“J.L”) has realized there is more to life than just living. Living, in and of itself, is one thing; but to live knowing there is purpose behind your existence is another: “The trials, joys, and sorrows of life, involuntarily depicts ones’ “story”. This story oftentimes goes untold and prevent maturation and emancipation; not only in the lives of the individuals whom experience the story first hand, but more importantly in the lives of those who desire to benefit by adhering.” J.L professes. Having said that, J.L has realized the power in words and as a Journalism major, he has used his gift as a writer in hopes of transforming and inspiring the lives of many. His most profound work, a monologue entitled “Faces”, speaks to victims of sexual abuse and stresses this universal truth: “The obstacles in life, we face, do not define us; we are defined by the manner in which we overcome life’s obstacles.” - John “J.L” Landry J.L’s prayer is for these words to continue to encourage and inspire all whom he encounters. Recently, he has begun to tackle the area of theater and hopes to use this arena to mold his work into visual representations. He is excited about embarking on a road, less traveled, to be where he knows he belongs - on stage, continuing to encourage, inspire, and transform lives! [LOVEMYFLASH]
