| Influences | I decided that this was too random, so heres a modification, firstly, my guitar influences, in order as I remember: Segovia; Steve Cropper; Michael Chapman; Bert Jansch; Jimi Hendrix; Jimmy Page; John Martyn; James Taylor; Steven Stills; Harvey Mandel; Carlos Santana; Elliott Randall; Larry Carlton; Robben Ford. Note the mix of acoustic & electric players, I have phases! This sort of adds up to my first guitar stint.
After an 18 year layoff, in which I gave up guitar; and to a large extent, music; I started playing again, I revisited some old heroes, then added a few new (some old) ones: Martin Taylor; Jeff Beck; Albert Lee; Ronnie Jordan; Nile Rogers; Scott Henderson; Steve Lukather,; Jennifer Batten. Still learning, still revisiting, still discovering new players to admire.
I suppose my writing has many influences, not all obvious in the songs I have posted. I would say that Becker & Fagan; John Martyn; Leonard Cohen & Steven Stills have been my main influences, obviously, dating back to when I was younger. My favourite band of all time has to be Steely Dan and if I could write like anyone it would be Walter & Donald.
