I am a thankful and lucky man. Married to my wife Michelle and have two awesome boys, Christian and Gabriel.
I am a former U.S. Marine, serving on active duty and then in the reserves. I am a graduate of Parris Island, SC. I trained in the Marines to be an 0300 (Infantry), then had the opportunity to become a 7051 (Airport Rescue Firefighter). After my service was over, I started to attend college on a part-time basis, while working as an aircraft firefighter. I became an aircraft firefighter working as a sub-contractor for the military and the aerospace industry. I started out at a local general aviation airport. From that point, I had other airports and contracts available to me. I did a short stint at this small airport in Newark, Dl. That was a really cool experience. We were contracted by the U.S. Army and Boeing Inc, to provide fire protection, EMS, and Hazmat for a foriegn military sale of Chinoook helicopters to Egypt.
I later took a transfer to West Palm Beach, Fl for a position at the Sikorsky Test Flight Center. During that time the stealth helicopter RAH-66 Comanche was being built and tested.
In Florida, I attended my Paramedic training at the Florida Medical Training Institute. After the Sikorsky contract was winding down, I came back home and started working as an MICU Paramedic at the Hunterdon Medical Center. After getting started at Hunterdon, I took a part-time job, also as an MICU Paramedic at Muehlenburg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, NJ. In my free time I returned back to college working towards my physician's assistant degree.
March 10, 2005 - The day the music died!
I was working my full-time job, only an hour into the night shift and I was involved in a motor vehicle accident, disabling me and hurting my partner. That day was the end of my paramedic & firefighting career. I sustained a fractured spine, spinal cord and nerve damage. This injury has severly limited my daily activities and abilities.
