From Amish Country to Where the Three Rivers Meet then bound for the City That Never Sleeps, only to find myself lying on an Ocean Beach.
Brief Background:
John Miller is a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California. After relocating to San Diego in 2003, John entered the music scene here with a few other buddies and their pop-punk, garage-rock-n-roll band, Johnny Different (JD). JD recorded one album, Growin' Up, produced and engineered by long-time San Diego musician Chuck Schiele of The Grams . Released in January 2007, the album received several reviews in various San Diego papers and websites after a very successful CD Release show at O'Connell's in San Diego (Bay Park), California.
During breaks and in between JD gigs, John kept himself busy with solo acoustic gigs at the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market, Dublin Square and various other venues and acoustic showcases. After the amicable disbanding of Johnny Different in February 2008, John has been focusing his efforts on writing new material and performing acoustic shows. While the new material is exciting for John, he continues to incorporate acoustic versions of the JD songs he wrote (some of those JD recordings are posted on this site), new songs and has also reached back to rearrange and revamp some music he wrote prior to JD and San Diego. More often than not, John is teamed up with Ryan Vernazza on lead guitar at acoustic shows; Ryan has brought in a new dynamic and the collaboration between Vernazza and Miller has developed their music into something they're both excited about.
Please check back for information on shows, recordings and more…Thanks!
