About me: John Murillo is an Afro-Chicano poet and playwright. A graduate of New York University's MFA program in creative writing and recent fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, his poetry has appeared, or is forthcoming, in such publications as Callaloo, Court Green, Ploughshares, and Ninth Letter. A featured reader at such venues as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and LouderArts @13, he is a two time Larry Neal Writers' Award winner, a former New York Times Poetry Fellow, Cave Canem alum, and a 2008 Pushcart Prize nominee.
