Hi John! Thanks for adding me!

Wanted to invite you to join JPF (Just Plain Folks) if you're not already a member there. They're taking submissions for this year's music awards pretty soon!

It's a great place to hang out.

I'm really glad you like it ! Actually I didn't get much feedback on this one so thank you.

While I'm writing this comment, I'm hearing "Ten Shin Go So" which has great atmosphere. Excellent work !
The more experimental sounding "Zugswang" is my other favorite song here. So compliment on your music and very best wishes !

Thanks for the kind comments John. Glad you enjoyed my tunes and hope you check back often for new ones. I enjoyed listening to your music and appreciate your support of independent musicians. It's nice to come across another musician from Utah. Keep up the good work.

I think that companies use indie artists not only because it's easier and more affordable...but because they know that we will be stoked and tell all of our friends and fans...

Hey, John. Thanks for stopping by. Yep, I AM touring quite a bit this summer. It's great. :) I'm lovin' it.
Thank you so much for the great CD review. I enjoyed reading it. It was very insightful. I'm glad you enjoyed the CD.

Hey John, thanks for your responses. I think I like this survey thing. Helps to get to know people better. So do you have a copy of Nixon in China. I'd really like to see that. All the best, Ryan

-----

John Newman's responses to the opera survey.

Okay, I'll play.

If I were an Opera I'd be __________
"Nixon in China." Quirky, political, funny, and surreal.

Something I've always wanted to say to an Opera character:
"Don't kill your wife, you idiot! She's not the problem."

Opera character I'd love to play (irregardless of voice type):
Henry Kissinger from "Nixon in China." I think I'd make a great "Evil Emperor." ;^)

Favorite Opera composer (other than yourself):
Ooh, tough one. Can I list two? Adams and Taylor (I LOVED "The Other Wise Man." I was in tears through most of the second act.)

Favorite Opera (other than your own):
Ouch. I'm gonna go out on a limb and pick Berg's "Wozzeck."

An Opera 'I just don't get':
"Einstein on a Beach." Is this really an opera, people?

My favorite aria (regardless of voice type):
Ouch. Not a clue. Sorry.

Opera 'star' I'd like to meet:
I gotta agree with you on Dawn Upshaw, here. Oh, man. What a voice! In all the interviews with her I've read (or heard), she just comes across as an amazing woman.

Yea, good old Tracy! That was an interesting class for sure. Hey I have been freelancing at Counterpoint Studios and I need horn parts quite a bit, would you be interested? (Paying of course) We should collaborate or something sometime.

Dude, John, when are we going to get together and chat? I totally miss chatting with you. Hope you and your family are doing awesome. I'm cutting down on producing and am going to try and write some music. Can you believe I haven't written anything yet this year? Producing is a time vacuum. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for seeking me out here in yourspace. All the best, Ryan

Thanks for adding me, John :) I hope that choral piece is coming together for you! If you post the recording, let me know. I'd love to hear how it turns out. That is definitely a hefty project!
