Post-punk power trio Autoban bring their fusion of guitar-hookery, punchy rhythms and stiletto-sharp lyrics to the Academy II on December 5 for their inaugural 'Mad Hatter's Ball'.

Bowler, Beret or Beer Hat; Fedora, Fez, Tribly or Top Hat, the possibilities are endless. So get your Thinking Cap on and dig out your finest for a hat-tastic night of dirty dancing. Hats are compulsory, dissidents will be shamed and ladies can accessorize, obviously.

Support on the night comes from a motley crew of Dublin's finest party djs. Check myspace.com/autoban for details.

Hello. Please do delete this comment if you so wish.

We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:

    http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm

Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.

International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.

Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.

    Lots of love

Autoban make their first headline appearance since the release of second single 'Sirens/This City's Fashions' last November when they play Whelan's on Friday March 27. Admission is a recession-busting €5 and doors open at 8pm Hope to see yez down there.

"Autoban's new single 'Sirens' draws you in like the winged Greek mythological creatures of the same name, and before you regain your senses, you've been thrashed against funky rocks like a hapless ancient sailor. This upbeat number is an instant floor-filler - dance, kitchen or otherwise.
" - HeraldAM (Sirens Single review)

“Quirky, killer riffs, cowbell smacking intros and punch drum finales, is a recipe for greatness.

Oh you know...a bit fagged off with the world as usual. No news other than I no longer have job to go. Hooray!

You? What's happening with the great Anglo-Irish novel?
