OLIVER'S NIGHT CLUB: "ONCE BROKEN HEARTED"
..
Johnny C was born to Greek parents Constantine and Christina in the United States. They had immigrated from Nemea, Greece, but like most first generation immigrants kept most of the traditions of their native land alive in their home. Therefore, Johnny grew up in a Greek household and is bilingual in Greek and English. Additionally, he and his family returned to Greece to live for extended periods of time, years which are dear to his soul. Eventually they returned to settle. John attended The University of Connecticut and Boston University where he studied electrical engineering, math and physics respectively. He earned advanced degrees in the latter and earns his living as a software data manager and as a musician. He has toured the U. S and Canada and traveled extensively, but makes his home in New England.
Johnny is consistently noted for his poetic lyrics, amazing falsetto, shimmeringly honied counter tenor voice and engaging performance. Johnny’s Greek roots and upbringing can be heard in all aspects of his music which ranges from classical to Greek Music of the 1930’s which he is currently recording with a fellow Greek-American, Taki, to his own alternative Rock. Johnny C learned to sing in the Greek Choir and by listening to his father, an accomplished opera singer. He is an accomplished musician who plays acoustic guitar, and keys; he began studying classical piano at the age of six. However by the time he grew up, he had dramatically switched his mode of expression and turned to alternative music. This was in part due to the influence of Cabaret and musicians such as Mel Torme, Elvis Presley’s Gospel sounds and Jim Morrison and the Doors. Back in the 90’s, when he sang at the "International Freedom Festival" he recalls the “special frightening thrill” of tens of thousands of people standing captivated by his performance, and he realized the stage was his home. About 10 years ago, Johnny C joined drummer Neil Bowman in the band, Common Thrill. Since that time, there has been both evolution and revolution in the style.
Indeed many people have been moved by Johnny C, and have stood dreaming in front of him when he performs. Johnny admits to spending a considerable amount of time composing and practicing his music but also preparing to perform. He has developed quite a charismatic and electrifying stage presence. Change is always in the air for artists. What time has pressed and experience has cut is the brilliance of the musician Johnny C who feels the need to create more independently. He has, indeed, written some amazing tunes: Morphine Drip, Lullaby and Hollywood Nights which have gotten not only national airplay but made their way into clubs around the world. Now he is taking another turn and lending his high-powered talents and incredible voice to his original love, jazz vocals. If what we've seen so far is an indication of the future, there will be many more years of heart stirring, ground-breaking music.

Many times we feel as quitting but…that is the essential moment when we should push forward! If someone will tell you “No, you can’t”… you must look inside of you and answer…”I will find a way, you’ll see”.. if they don’t believe you… just walk away… Someone else will. Hope your week will be full of nice and happy surprises and hope you will have only sunny days above and .. inside.. your own heart!!!Love, Gabriela Romaria
