BLUES JAM EVERY SUNDAY
From 4:30 to 8:30 we host one of the longest running open blues jams in the Boston area with guitarist MONSTER MIKE WELCH, and the HOODOO MEN acting as MCs- it's open to all ages (under 18 with a parent). Come on in, sign up, and let us hear your stuff!!
SALSA SUNDAYS
Always good dancing on our Salsa night! It's a really great live Latin band, and the dance teachers are two of the best in New England. Still plenty of space to dance, and it's just for fun! LESSONS run from 9:00-10:00. DANCE PARTY begins @ 10:00 and shakes booty until about midnight!!!
TEAM TRIVIA
MONDAY nights @ 8:30. Arrive early to sign up - there are PRIZES involved!

We do not sell advance tickets to most shows. For those interested in DINNER & SHOW RESERVATIONS, please call: (617) 776-2004. Often times our dinner reservations will fill quickly so please call in advance, otherwise there is unreserved bar seating and lots of stand-up and dance space.

Rachael Ray's Tasty Travel Treats Rachael Ray's film crew filmed a segment at Johnny D's! She will be featuring Johnny D's on her show titled Tasty Travel...Keep an eye out for the show!
Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club is named for John DeLellis. Born and raised in Somerville, Johnny D served 13 years as a Somerville police officer before he and his wife, Tina, purchased the Uptown Café back in 1969. During the 70's and early 80's we showcased the area's top country-western performers. Some may remember the good old red and black vinyl booths and everyone's favorite bartender, Uncle Louie.
In the mid 80s, son David and daughter Carla expanded the club's booking policies and we now present everything from blues to Bulgarian wedding music, bagpipes to bongos.
Johnny D and David have since passed away, but Tina and Carla, with the help of a great staff and many talented musicians, lead the way. The result has been national recognition, including the coveted W.C.HANDY "KEEPING THE BLUES ALIVE" CLUB OF THE YEAR, awarded by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as several Best of Boston awards. We are very grateful to have a team that allows us to consistently receive such accolades.
As of January, 2007 we are 38 years old. We thank you for your patronage and appreciate the support shown to us through the years!

Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club is a Boston institution owned and operated by the DeLellis family for 38 years. On any given night you may see Cajun fiddle masters from Louisiana, British folk stars, or some of Boston's finest rockers. Over the years we have had an almost endless list of the best touring acts in the country - just about anyone who would fit in a 300-capacity room has played here at one time or another, including the greatest names from the jazz, blues, folk, rock, and international music scene.

Johnny D's Restaurant serves Dinner and has a Live Jazz Brunch every weekend, receiving local and national attention. The menu is varied; featuring many new American dishes and vegetarian items.
We are located at 17 Holland Street in the heart of Davis Square, Somerville, directly across from the Somerville Theatre. Get directions!
