Existing in the period of my life which 20 years later will be summarized in a short sentence such as,
"Following a return to grad school for composition studies, Mr. Chang engaged in a vigorous stint of freelance performance work and organizing appearances at various gallery spaces for the purposes of presenting new and experimental music"
6th. of May the dkfrf will be in Montreal and in Hamburg. No internet connections, the plain geo/psychological/emotional notion that two episodes will take place at the same day on different continents is enough.
das kleine field recordings festival will transmit live on location from the cosy bar/theatre sowieso (sowieso-neukoelln. de) in Neukölln. Weisestrasse 24. U8 Leinestrasse
After the highly succesfull evening with the origami ripublika party, evapori and alexandre decoupigny
The noise legend from wedding Der Tapeman will make his appearance at the festival. He accepted the challenge to find some lost and accidental sounds in his vast archive of cassette recordings. What will come out from in between the noise thunders is a big surprise to all of us.
Marek Brandt (aka triPhaze) from privatelektro label / leipzig, will leave his alter ego at home, and bring recordings from his many travels to the poverty zones of Europe (not only in the eastern hemisphere).
Maikko is the special guest of the evening. To play at the festival he flew in from Turin in Italy. His will be a set that will evolve around the many recordings he made in Mexico
Due to sleeping children upstairs we will start rather early, at 21.37.
No problem to come early, you will like the bar, a kind of gesamtkunstwerk by its owner Marc van der Kemp.
Coming saturday 25th of Oktober the festival will dive deep into Neukölln, away from booming Reuterkiez to explore a new territory.
In the very nice and becoming bar sowieso (sowieso-neukoelln. de) there is also a little theater.
Berlin based Alexandre Decoupigny will bring recordings and an old piano from a room with an ear in Liverpool.
Also Berlin based and dkfrf regular Evapori will bring little objects from the woods. Maybe his performance can also be heard as a sonic essay on field recordings.
Origami Boe will perform after the break, and his set promises to be full of surprises. Anyone who has met and seen him last year can assure you that this is an occasion not to be missed.
the shows will start at 21.00 sharp, because of upstairs neighbours.
sowieso is in the weisestrasse 24 a parallel to the hermannstrasse U8 is Leihestrasse.
