About me: I'm a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication focusing on Electronic Communication. I also minored in English. What will I do with said degree? I'd love to find a job in television production--things like editing and videography. I also wouldn't mind reporting for public radio... but that's a harder gig to get. Music is love and it's hard to find a kind I don't like. NPR is God, and my radio stories have poorly imulated those of the prophet Ira Glass and This American Life. I like to edit. I like to jog, er, I like the resulting release of endorphins, at least. I'm a sassy diabetic. I work at a bookstore... no, not some hip independent one you may find in Carrboro. Think giant chain retailer not unlike the one they made fun of in the movie "You've Got Mail." I wouldn't trade the people I work with for anything though. And that includes all of you who have moved on to better things and those I've left behind in search of better stores. It even includes those of you I don't really need/want to see every day... because at least it gives me something to talk about. Yes, I've seen "You've Got Mail." I sometimes get hurt easily. I like to go to a decent gay club every now-and-then and dance, dance, dance. Especially after I drink, drink, drink. My downstairs neighbor is a douche bag. No, not literally. My favorite punctuation mark is the ellipsis... yet I rarely use it in the proper way. I'm a crossword junkie. I'm like no one you've ever met in your life. Me speak English. My type well. You should too. At least try your best if you're going to message me.
I like putting long breaks between my written thoughts. It adds emphasis.
And suspense. Sometimes it annoys people.
My AIM screen name is Johnnyesque. Un-sexy stalkers: no need to apply. Sexy stalkers: I expect to hear from you.
No, I'm really not that shallow... but I reserve the right to not message back.
Who I'd like to meet: Sexy stalkers,
David Sedaris,
Amy Sedaris,
Ira Glass,
Lily Allen... she seems sassy enough to keep up.
i'm just surprised he didn't follow us out to our cars! lol. but for real it was great to see you and julie! it's been a long time, miss lady. but i'ma be realeased soon and back in d-town. so watch out.
Obviously Scary Spice. Which one does that make me? Not the lesbian one.
I was in 1990 yesterday (had to get tights for my niece at Old Navy)--and oh man, their children's dept was sadness. Actually, that whole store was. I was very claustrophobic. And as I told Chris, their merchandising decisions were making me ill, so we left.
Connor and I spent $50, so I justified your existence for half an hour today. The books came in handy later this afternoon after Connor's shots!
So I was driving home the other night around midnight, flipping channels on the radio--and I came across this little gem that immediately made me think--"what a great song for the beach house, maybe a little a cappella number and some choreographed dance moves..."
The song?
"I Wanna Sexx U Up"
Can't you just see it now? Tick tock get up stop stop to the heart
I'm sorry about not keeping you involved in the Fabulous Life of Me. And when I say fabulous, I really mean less than awesome. But, it's always possible that things may be getting better. I promise to keep you updated. Here's an update for now: I still miss you guys. I gotta come visit. Soon.
i will give you a call when i'm back in town. would be so good to see you and julie! i'm not gonna be working thanksgiving weekend, so will have some time, i think.
hey :D how are you miss lady? i will be in dtown for thanksgiving break and then on the 9th of december for winter break, which will go until like the second week in jan. and yes most definitely we need to catch up! i've missed you. hope all is well.
I couldn't help but think of our own "office" when I saw tonight's episode about the birthday cakes...and how you said that one time that we have cake for some occasion every week.
Happy Birthday! I'm sneaking it in. At least you are not turning 30 like my brother did today. Hopefully you are out celebrating, and tomorrow you can come in with a hangover and do storytime. Here's a life lesson, kids. There's no singing "If You're Happy and You Know It" in the real world.
