Born deaf to a family of nine in a flat in Jersey City, New Jersey, John Romano's humble and somewhat odd roots harkens to the things that would come. As to his hearing "there were seven of us running around no one really figured out I couldn't hear until I was about three." Many doctor visits later it was determined that the hearing loss was an issue of water clogging the ear canals since birth. After a few operations John was given the great gift of sound. He has been working on losing his hearing ever since ;)
