Just Me - Steve - and my acoustic guitar. I got the name Johnny's Cousin Steve when I moved to Boulder, CO back in 1994. My cousin Johnny was going to school there at CU and all his buddies were introducing me around as "Johnny's Cousin Steve". When I booked gigs there they all said, "Hey, we gotta go see Johnny's cousin Steve" - I used the name on some posters and it just stuck.

I guess I have two music identities. I've made my living for the past 17 years performing as an Acoustic Solo in restaurants and bars, but I'm also a Singer/Songwriter. For my "cover" gigs in the bars, I give the people "what they want" - over 500 great cover songs from the past 50 years, mostly Classic Rock. Stuff they know the words to and can sing along with....but I sneak in some originals every now and then. I started back in 1992 out in Southern California - Manhattan Beach, made my way through Boulder, CO and eventually ended up back "home" in South Jersey. I would love to find a place for my songs in the world, but for now....."bye, bye, Miss American Pie"....
HEY!! Click the Thumbnails below, put your face right up to the screen, squint like Clint Eastwood and maybe you can read some of them... ...they are newspaper clippings that go as far back as 1992, (when I started out in Duo named "Shark Bite"...before moving to Colorado in 1994 and becoming "Johnny's Cousin")...Wow! 17 Years!!
Cool! You rock on dude! My cd will be available soon...I'm working on the last and twelth song in the studio right now. And the songs sound better on cd than the website. I'll talk to you soon and I'll deliver one if you still live in the same house. Keep on rockin! Tef
Hey bro, I know you've been busy. What's up? Your original Land Ho is very "Bruce" and passionate, especially with a lot of drunk people in the audience. Hey, my two new songs are up: The remake of Cold Rain, and my only ballad Computer Chair which you might recognize if you saw my video Round and Round. If you get time, check them out for your opinion is highly regarded. Tef
How are things in 'dirty jerzy'? I see your'e at my favorite place on Wednesday nights now. Take care, keep in touch, and keep rocking...Sorry that I never got to see you perform, maybe I'll make it out there again some time, Later :)
Hey Steve, Looks like you're gonna be busy this summer, as usual. Thanks for taking the time to give me an awesome comment about my songs. You ROCK! Remember: Eventually the world will be destroyed...eventually a girl will meet a boy! Peace, TEF
Hey Steve...Thanks an aweful lot for checking out my tunes and honestly commenting awesomely on them. The Night was the first song we recorded. They're mostly older songs I wrote that I've always had a passion for and wanted to record. Just like your originals...they have a special part in your heart. And I bet if you recorded with Don your stuff would turn out awesome! Take care and have a great summer! Tef
Hey bro...four more songs up. Check them out! Did you see the big fire in the Villas last night near the lumber yard? I drove by your house again because Bayshore was closed off. Tef
I like when you say, "Does anybody have any requests," and someone says something, and then you say, "Except for that one." That was so funny. Anyway, my guitar player, Don Shaw, also has the recording studio in the Villas, kinda near your house. See The Don on top friends. He's a seasoned producer and musician. I'm happy to work with him now because he's like you...tons of gigs in the summertime. Hopefully I'll put the new tracks on myspace tonight. I go to Don's to finish a song and work on a new one. Wish me luck! TEF
Hey Steve...Long time. Hope you've been well. Pass by your house while delivering pizza sometimes. I have a new originals full length cd coming out. The first three songs are posted on my site. Four more are done and ready to be put on tomorrow. I've kept you as one of my top friends because I support local musicians. Please check them out and tell me what you think. I'd really like to know. Oh, I'm recording at guitar extradonnaire Don "The Don" Shaw's studio...see top friends on my page. Anyway, see ya around. TEF
I have been listening to your original music... very cool. I really like the cool surfy sound of Ranger. The production on the tunes sounds great too. I like the catchy chorus of Sheila Do You Remember. What do you think about shipping some tunes over to collaborate on?
Hi, Thanks for the add again, things are going well. I've only been here a few weeks. Chicago is great, I miss the beach though. Glad I won't have to deal with the russians and such this summer though. Hope you are well too. : )
