My Dad! Rest his soul! Mainly for hanging in there while raising me!
About me: Hey,
My name is Johnny and I've been a guitaraholic for over 20 years! I've played in bands from the "Hair Band" days of the 80's to present day hard rock and alternative. I'm currently playing in a Southern California band called "Thrill Machine". You can find them at myspace.com/thrillmachine or at our official site at www.thrillmachinerocks.com. My previous band "Lunatic Zoo" was probably the most successful band so far. We did an album called Insanity that did well and generated some label interest. We were getting airplay on Z-104, WJJO, 90 FM, Laser 103 and other rock stations in Central Wisconsin, Madison & Milwaukee. I played in Lunatic Zoo for 7 years and we were probably one of the best known hard rock bands in the State of Wisconsin. We played all around the state and also around the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We never did get signed but we had alot of good times. The band payed my bills through college and then I graduated. I finished my degree in Laser Technology from North Central Tech. Soon after, I received a job offer from a well known govt. defense company. The job required a move across the country to Sunny Southern California. Soon Lunatic Zoo's glory days were over. It was real hard to leave that band, but I needed a real career that supported a better lifestyle for my family. Every few years, me and the boys of Lunatic Zoo, still get together and do a reunion to thank all of our hard core loyal fans. We still pack 300-500 per show after 5 years of being broken up! You can check out the band at www.lunaticzoo.net After a few years of semi-retirement from the music biz, I soon got the itch to play music again. After about a zillion auditions and line up changes, Thrill machine was born! I'm real excited about this new band and have high hopes. Everyone is a top notch musician and they actually have a life! Well, we're starting out doing hard rock covers to get established and to avoid the pay to play places that plague Hollywood and other areas of Southern California. We would much rather bring our own PA and lights to more intimate venues than be slaves to the pay to play scene! We all agree it's much better to get established playing covers and to make a buck or two. Then break out the original material! And that's just what we're doing. We've just started playing the last few months and soon we'll be writing original material. I can't wait to get in the studio again! Well, that's a quick little history of me and my music career! There's a video below of the last reunion I did with my last project Lunatic Zoo filmed in December 2005. Hope you enjoyed my profile and feel free to check out my new band Thrill Machine or my last project Lunatic Zoo! Peace! Johnny www.lunaticzoo.net
