John Pagano was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He originally started out as a guitar player when he picked up the instrument at age nine and taught himself to sing while strumming The Platters classic "Only You". John next learned to deliver a proficient version of the show biz anthem "On Broadway" and by age fourteen he was heading up his first band. John lied about his age and his band went to work regularly throughout the northeast.
It was during this time that John began to pay particular attention to certain singers. John credits his vocal style to listening to such music icons such as Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye. He continued to hone his craft by listening to these legends and working six nights a week, four sets a night for years. Johns live performance regimen quickly curbed any urges to over-sing, a trait common among young singers blessed with big voices.
John recently completed his next album project, PURE IMAGINATION, with a 40 piece orchestra, transitioning effortlessly between the role of producer and vocalist. John is also a featured vocalist in music icon Burt Bacharach's touring band. In addition to performing with Burt Bacharach, John has worked with Grammy Award winning songwriter Barry Mann ("The Best I Ever Was"), renowned composer/producer George Duke ("Change In My Life"), George Howard (singing vocals on the saxophone players album "Shower You With Love") and saxman Michael Lington's "Everlasting Love" (a song John co-wrote). John has also had a song of his covered by David Cassidy ("Sheltered").
Along the way John's voice also caught the ear of Jerry Seinfeld who invited him to open for his Las Vegas and Atlantic City shows.
John appears in the Adam Sandler film "Click", appearing and singing in a pivotal wedding scene.
Next time you are here on vacation, you should try to set something up at the hi hat to perform. I'm sure a lot of local people would love to see that. I know I would. I'm sure Joe at the Hi Hat would assist you in arranging it.
Thanks for your very kind Add, my dear Mr John. I'm sincerely very happy and honour to be your friend. You're always welcome to me in my place. A lot of sweets kisses and hugs. Your little soul Heart Woman (Laura) from Italy with much Love. ;)
Hope you are well back in Cali. Looks like the Hilton deal on the 11th of May should be fun. Feel free to keep an eye out for any potential collaboration or projects my material would fit. Hey, you have to throw it out there, right? By they way, check out, when you have a sec, my new posted lyric "Feel Free". Throw out any comments or suggestions, if you see fit. Have a great day, John!!
Is it weird that you're the last voice I hear before I go to bed and the first voice when I wake up? OK, it's coming from Rob's studio in the house and it's from the Sydney recordings, but it's still weird! You sound amazing, as usual. See you soon!
So many of my friends have stopped by to say how much they like your voice. So proud to have you on my top friends, and that you are from little Rhody!
You should definitely check out my top friends, including the incredible songwriter Steve Dorff, whose gift reminds me so much of Burt's.
