JOHN PARSONS : Born in Pontllanfraith, South Wales, UK. At about the age of fourteen, he switched from wanting to be "PELE" to
wanting to be "CLAPTON".
Earliest influences include "THE BEATLES, CREAM, "HENDRIX" , "LED ZEPPELIN" as well as the early Soul acts and everything
by "TAMLA MOTOWN" - courtesy at the time of "Radio Luxembourg".
Studied guitar at the "Leeds College of Music" where he first met fellow guitarist , the late Nick Webb of "ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY".
He also joined the group "SHE'S FRENCH" which included Sergio Castillo, Tato Gomez, Paco Saval and Serge Maillard ; great musicians
who would also play an important role in future projects.
From 1977 to 1990 he lived in Cologne, Germany where he formed the band "SANTIAGO" with Tato, Paco , Serge and Mario Argandoña
(The band won the "German Music Prize" for the "Best New Act" of 1979). During this period he also played on countless recordings and
tours including "PASSPORT" "THE HOLLIES", "THE SEARCHERS" etc. and produced and played on four "ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY"
albums receiving two Grammy Nominations for "BEST NEW AGE TRACK" in 1997.
John also co-wrote over fifty songs with Acoustic Alchemy and after the tragic death of his good friend , Nick Webb in 1998 , played Nick..s
guitar parts on three U.S. tours and the two following c.d.s.
In Spain (where he lives since 1990) he has recorded and toured with most of the top spanish artists, including: "Miguel Ríos, Juan Perro,
Luz Casal, Joaquín Sabina, Alex Ubago, Javier Rubal, Pedro Guerra , Alejandro Sanz, etc., etc. In 2004, he arranged and
produced the Miguel Rios cd. " 60 MP3 " which won " Best Rock Album "at the Spanish Music Awards 2004 as well as composing most of
the music including - " Sesenta Razones " which was nominated for " Best Song " (Lyrics - Luis Garcia Montero / Music - John Parsons.)
John..s overdue "solo project" was started in 2000 when he recorded four instrumental compositions thanks to his friend Klaus Genuit..s
encouragement at Klaus..s famous "Hansa Haus Studios" in Bonn .Maybe its about time he finnished it !!!
