John is joined in the studio by the rhythm section of the popular Quebec band Les Batinses, ( Todd Picard and Andy Stewart), as well as special guests, Dave Chan, Orrin Baird, Mike Crocker, Jenna Ujiye, Yellowbird (aka Melina Hussey).and Nick “Brownman” Ali.
In his first solo album, Sustain, John Powers pointedly requests, “Let me drink the midnight water,” implying the need for a life source that is both subtle and simple. The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist taps into various life sources on the CD’s 13 tracks: water, love, loss, humour, spirituality, and music itself. His forays into multiple styles include folk, blues, reggae, country, rock, Caribbean, and African music. Thematic and musical experimentation join forces in Sustain, proving Powers’ versatility as an artist and performer, and his masterful fusion of form and meaning.
John Powers lives in Stratford, Ontario, and has performed on stages across the country with several bands, including members of Feist, Les Batinses and The Shuffle Demons. He performs now and then with his bands, Soup, the Barbaloots, and with his lovely wife Melina, aka Yellowbird.

Hi! this is Oral Fuentes. Some of you have received this comment stating: "You gotta send my friend a message. She thinks your really CuTE! Add her on (MSN)Messanger emily21rich@hotmail.com" This message was not from me, nor the Oral Fuentes Reggae Band. I just change my password etc and have notified "myspace.com" Oral Fuentes Reggae Band will never send messages of this sort, nor encourage any junk mails. like I said I am here to link with you as an Artist and friend, any junk is not allowed on my "myspace site". Apparently I have seen this same message on so many other sites. I have now change my settings, so people 'comments' need to be approve. Please do the same and stop the spams.
