    Singer/songwriter John Rush from Paisley spent most of his formative years playing guitar handling frontman duties for a variety of bands, one of which -Shine - supported The Zutons at Glasgow's Carling Academy to great acclaim, the band being described as "Free, with a poppier twist!" Recently however, having developed a stronger interest in following his earlier influences such as The Beatles, Elvis, Stephen Fretwell and Anthony and the Johnstons, the 27 year old has branched out into writing new material as a solo performer. Thanks not only to his talent for composition, but equally his classic good looks, he has connected with and attracted a growing audience, equally split between male and female fans, in the demanding field of the acoustic music scene, where wannabes are ten-a-penny, but genuine talent such as John's coupled with his real gift of interacting with his followers through sheer stage presence is thin on the ground. In fact Johns raw charisms and rugged handsomeness prompted the Daily Records Tam Cowan to remark after one show: "If John doesn't go home with someone after this, there's something wrong with the world!" But there's much more depth to John than images alone alone. His genuine talent and superb song writing skills have seen him performing with jamming alongside well-known artists such as The Seahorses Chris Hellme, The Bluetones Mark Morris and Ocean Colour Scene, as well as appearing on his own at celebrated venues across Scotland such as The Barrowlands and King Tuts in Glasgow, Edinburgh's Liquid Rooms and the Doghouse in Dundee. In fact multi- talented John Rush and the Love Hats who recently went down an absolute storm at Glasgow's City Chambers. Much as he enjoyed the gigs however, his real strength lies in his more intimate solo acoustic outings which sees his talent as a performer really come to fore, talent that Proud Mary's Grieg Griffen conceding: "John Rush is a top singer songwriter and he's going all the way BOOOOSH!!"     my main influences are john lennon & elvis but i am also into alot of old 60's & 70's bands such as the beatles,the stones,free,small faces,the who,the faces & classic singers like otis readin,marvin gaye,paul rogers,early rod stewart & steve marriot a bit of marc bolan im also up for a bit of brit pop such as oasis,blur,the seahorses & of course the mod father himself mr paul weller
