Everything my senses interact with, which is beyond my ability to list. Artistically speaking I'll just name a few creative types I appreciate... Consistantly I have listened to the likes of Bob Dylan, Elvis, Bill Withers, and especially Bruce Cockburn and Van Morrison - I never seem to grow weary of listening to these two artist, Liam Ó Maonlaí is a great inspiration to me, U2, Bono, Willis Alan Ramsey, Doc Watson, Johnny Cash, Gillian Welch, Mike Roe, Afro-Cuban All Stars, Earl Klugh, Johann Sebastian Bach, Van Gogh, Hieronymus Bosch, John Donne, C.S. Lewis, Francis Schafer, A.W. Tozer, Oswald Chambers. There are more as "friends" here at "myspace". I feel I have to give mention that the greatest impact/influence/inspiration to me by far has been my personal advent of the Holy Spirit, opening me artistically, intellectually, and philosophically, which is interestingly the opposite of what I expected and in part what kept me away for so long.
Sounds Like
...listen to the tracks. Hopefully uniquely myself.
Not long ago I visited the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. If you've never been there, some of the most amazing views in the world are available in that park. Something about standing on the side of a mountain and looking out over miles and miles of nature brings me a sense of connection to something bigger than myself. All I can say is that John's songs from this CD began to flood into my mind as I stood there. The music by itself is excellent, but the lyrics take this CD to a whole next level. His music captures the human experiences of joy, hope, self-doubt, and grief as well as any I have ever listened to. And just like standing on that mountain, somehow when I listen to John's CD I know I am not alone in the world. (A recent statement from one of John's listeners)

John Stephen Lee - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K. Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.
"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer. "
