Lyrically-King David and Solomon are by far the most creative and powerful!
I only wish I could have heard the music and melodies!
As for American musical influences it would be- James Taylor, John Prine, Bob Dylan, John Hartford, Guy Clark, Bob Wills, Frank Sinatra, Hank Williams

Tobacco fields, worn out bikes, and ponies that just want run". That's a line from a song John wrote called Where I come from. Kernersville NC is the place he's speaking about. It's a relatively small town in the rolling hills of North Carolina. The simple life, hard work, and the old-time way comes natural to John! Going fishing and building tree house's were common place in his boyhood and after the chores were done he'd make a mad dash for the guitar or banjo and spend hours playing and writing songs.
In 1989 John was offered a job in Nashville TN playing banjo at Opryland USA. What was supposed to be a summer job, turned out to be the start of an exciting and successful career in the music business! After moving to Nashville, Music publisher Buzz Arledge took interest in John's talent and published many of his songs. John's song Walk on the Rocks has sold over 3 million on country music star Alan Jackson's CD "Everything I Love". John's musical career has spanned over 18 years and has landed him on stages worldwide! The Grand ole Opry, Busch-Gardens The General Jackson, Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, to name a few!
John's love for music is obvious! His life on stage and off is a picture of distinct priorities with his faith coming first. Shortly after moving to Nashville John began attending Two Rivers Baptist church where he has served as a Deacon ,Teacher and interim Singles Minister. John has also spent over a year on the foreign mission field sharing his music and ministering to the people of Armenia. His "mission journals" highlight his experiences there and his love for the people living in that part of the world! John is a gifted and compelling teacher who studies God's word daily. His passion and convictions are clear and unwavering.
John's hearts desire is to use his talent to communicate the life changing message of Jesus. He's recorded and released two Christian CD's, plays a variety of instruments and loves making people laugh! His laid back personality and dry sense of humor always renders a smile and is certain to entertain us! From tree house's to real house's and shoe box songs to triple platinum, God has truly blessed the work of his hands!
Spread the word! I'm organizing a concert at Two Rivers for August 28 at 7:00 p.m. with Aaron & Amanda Crabb and Crabb Revival. There will also be a silent auction with items from Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Wynonna, Barry Manilow, Pat Boone and many more! All proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
”The gift of listening: Try giving this to someone in need. And you must really listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses. Just listen.
The gift of signs of affection: Be generous with your hugs, kisses and gentle squeezes of the hand. Let these tiny actions demonstrate the love inside of you.
The gift of a note: It can be as simple as "I Love You" or as creative as a sonnet. Put your notes where they will surprise your loved one.
The gift of laughter: Just cut out a cartoon, save a clever article. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
The gift of compliment: A simple "You look good in blue" or "Good supper" can be of greatest value to those who may feel they are being taken for granted.
The gift of a favor: Help with the dishes, run an errand, etc..... do it willingly.
The gift of leaving alone: There are times in our lives when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Become more sensitive to those times and give solitude.
The gift of a cheerful disposition: Try to be cheerful around those you love.
The gift of a game: Offer to play your loved one's favorite game. Even if you lose, you'll be a winner.
