I’m just gonna say it… I hate writing bios. I think writing them is a little like pouring lemon juice in my eyes. I do however; enjoy music a great deal, and I’m told you have to have a bio in order to do music. So, here goes:
My name is John Torres, and I am super passionate about the craft of songwriting and performing. I really enjoy music and do all that I do in hopes of inspiring, impacting, and entertaining people. As a musician, I strive to be authentic and unaffected, and at the same time, to be simply entertaining.
I’ve been in the entertainment business for most of my life. Be it as an actor, singer, songwriter or producer, I feel like I’ve made the rounds quite a bit. Along the way I’ve had the opportunity to work on some really cool projects, and with some even cooler people.
I’ve worked with a few multi-platinum artists such as Steve Porcaro (of Toto fame), Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera) and Margorie Maye (Celine Dion) et cetera. In addition, my music has been featured in film and television.
As an actor, I have had the chance to perform in film and television as well, and have also starred in some award-winning musicals.
I feel that my music is personal and truthful to who I am. As a songwriter, I strive to write lyrics that are honest, and though provoking, and at the same time, I take great pains not to compromise the importance of melody.
Just recently, in January of 2009, I released my first official album (though there have been a few unofficial ones) entitles Music After all. I am currently touring and promoting the record, and am extremely grateful for every ounce of support I get from my fans, friends and family! Without you none of this is possible!
