John Whitaker is that little voice you hear around midnight whispering in your ear. His quirky heartfelt songs are full of the thoughts that keep us awake at night. They’re songs of hope and doubt, of yearning and fulfillment. More than anything, John’s songs are a celebration, a musical high-five, a simple gesture that lets us know we are not alone in the world.
John’s new album, Leave It With Your Airplanes, focuses on transitions. By turns celebratory and mournful, Leave It With Your Airplanes is a testament to the human ability to adapt. The album features numerous guest musicians and was recorded at various spots around the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
John’s third album is his most personal yet. “I used to be afraid of talking about things that I saw happening in my life, in my friends, in my family. It took a little time to realize that writing personal songs didn’t equal some sort of confessional, ‘let me put music to my diary’ experience.”

John Whitaker es un Kentuckiano que actualmente vive en Valencia. Y sí, sabe hacer un pollo frito para morirse…pero lo mas importante, sabe escribir canciones.
Directas y emocionantes, sus canciones conjuran la urgencia de The Replacements, recuerdan a las melodias inteligentes y pegajosas de Ray Davies, y no tienen miedo a sonar diferente unas de otras. Pero todas tienen su sello personal.
Su tercer disco, "Leave it with your airplanes," es una meditación sobre la madurez. Usando varias plantillas musicales tradicionales como plataforma de lanzamiento, John explora los pensamientos que nos quitan el sueño: las dudas y esperanzas que nos hacen humanos.
En directo John trasmite una pasion contagiosa. Tocando con su grupo o solo con su guitarra, gana nuevos adeptos cada vez que canta. Ha tocado con musicos como My Morning Jacket, Josh Ritter, y Richmond Fontaine.

Estuve cenando el sabado pasado con David en su pizzeria con Pati los nanos y Flor y salimos pipaos de alli, a txema lo veo muy poco pero esta muy activo con su pedal steel, y el disco....la ultimo que se es que el tipo del estudio estaba enfermo y tenia todo parado, no se mas....
Being pushy isn't going to get this album out any quicker. 18 songs take awhile. It's actually done, we're just waiting for the big label to pay for our production costs (lol). When's YOUR new record out??? Promises or not, we're expecting one.
