JOIYA was formed in December 2001 by guitarist Nolan Simon and violinist/pianist Cassandra Verras. In March 2002, drummer Michael Hardin was added, and after many, MANY member additions, deletions and changes the quartet came into its final lineup with the addition of cellist Kaylan Mitchell in December 2003. JOIYA released their first full length, titled Sometimes Is And Kinda, in August 2004.
Currently, the members of JOIYA are spread across state lines and working with new bands and projects. Cassandra has gone on to become a member of Rescue (RIP) and now plays violin and keys with The Silent Years. Kaylan also played for a time with the band Canada. She now plays cello with The Juliets, as well as occasionally tours with The Silent Years.

just wanted to make sure you knew the "moth" preorders are opened up at dovecote records , and that if you preorder it you also get a free 7" vinyl picture disc with a new song and a poster.
also, we will write a letter on your behalf to an estranged cousin that you don't even know exists yet, beckoning them back into your life. when they suddenly appear at your doorstep, and the confusion subsides, it will (for various reasons) be very clear why they were estranged and you will want to re-estrange them immediately.
It was a fine show you played at Small's the other night. Mr. Lawson tells me that it was on short practice that you performed, which is incredible, really. Well, well, well, well done. I'm glad I was able to finally make it out to see you.
