|
| Bio | First gig was June 1993 at the VD Clinic, opposite Pentonville Prison. Gave stand-up a go figuring itd be a night out. Began performing after RSI ended a 15 year journalism career. Publications she wrote for included NME, Smash Hits, The Face and The Evening Standard. Other jobs included ironing trousers for Dexys Midnight Runners, Bingo caller and Red Stripe roadie for John Lydon.
Career highlights: Researching, writing and presenting 42 episodes of Funny Business achieving a long held ambition to have my own chat show. Performing gigs in Sydney, Melbourne, Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Shanghai. Managing to make a night out last 13 years and counting.
My sets are less rigid than they used to be, Im spending a fair bit of time compering and this has totally freed me up. I get off on ad-libbing with the audience (not a euphamism for taking the piss) and giving them an insight into JoJoWorld. Its scary for them sometimes, but imagine what its like for me, I live in JoJoWorld 24/7!
