"Hey America, dreams can come true, never stop dreamin'"
-Eric Medlen
Jack Beckman - He fought cancer and won, won the 2003 NHRA Super Comp championship, got married, had a son, finally made his dreams come true and got a fuel ride. He is an inspiration and helps me continue to dream about one day sitting in the seat of a Top Fuel Dragster for a 4.42 second 337 mph pass.
This sums up why Joker Race Wear was started. I want to experience this feeling...
Current Funny Car contender Jack Beckman has enjoyed a lot of success during his career, including setting both ends of the Funny Car record at last year's Pomona finale, but one of his proudest moments came in 1991, when he bought his first Super Comp dragster. "I became partners on a dragster with Mike Blodgett's wife Beth, and I remember how rewarding it was to finally have a race car I could call my own," said Beckman, "I think the feeling first hit me when I was traveling up the Grapevine [Interstate 5] on the way to the Popular Hot Rodding meet in Bakersfield, Calif. I just remember the incredible sense of satisfaction I got from knowing that I was going to the races with my own race car, truck, and trailer. Life just couldn't get any better at that moment. Sure it was a bunch of old beat-up junk, but it was mine, and that was all that mattered."
