Jokulhaups Records is an eclectic indie label based in Bedfordshire set up by teenagers to promote their own musical projects. The label has been running on and off for about 2 years and has released music from 'A Number Equal To X', '567 G4RN3R', 'Europica' and 'Aglaziator' and also a cassette compilation entitled 'Flags Of Pride' which showcases some of the best material from these artists.
A Number Equal To X was the first act to be involved in the label as has been described as 'The most electronically fucked up music that you'll ever here'. The act started off as an anonymous side project consisting of a drum machine and midi instruments, but has now blossomed into a full band who put on a spectacular live show. Featured above is a track 'A Child Like Innocence, Diguised As Blatant Evil' which was featured on one of the labels supporters, Dirty Zine's ''Pedestrian'' Compilation (www.dirtyzine.co.uk). The first Jokulhaups release, was a split CD with three A Number Equal To X tracks and three 567 G4RN3R tracks which is available if you get in contact with us. For more info on A Number Equal To X, you can visit their own my space- www.myspace.com/anumberequaltox
567 G4RN3R is the project of Richard Garner and was originally created as soundtracks for his video games. 567 G4RN3R is a powerful force of euphoric dance music, full of electronic melodies and sonic beats. Above is the track 'Deep And Chilled', which is one of 567 G4RN3R's finest moments. 567 G4RN3R currently has three releases on Jokulhaups Records including the split CD with ANEX, his own first album 'The Light Beyond' and a second part of the album called 'Magimix' which features remixes of all the tracks into one continous track.
Aglaziator is the project of Kieran Durcan. His first album, ''Anarchy In The Hearts Of'' took the local music scene by suprise with its hard hitting techno- rock construction and moments of chilled out psychadelic bliss. Aglaziator has had numerous reviews by local press, including Monkey Kettle magazine who said ''the tracks get progressively less ambient as they progress, ushering in urgent rhythms and scuzzy guitars, until all the levels become piled up on top of each other, occasionally falling inwards on top of itself''. Aglaziator has also had a lot of local airplay on internet radio stations, including Georgie Strange's Loud O Rama show (www.loudorama.co.uk). There is also a split CD available featuring three Aglaziator tracks and three Europica tracks. Aglaziator recently played live with the Jokulhaups sister promotions company 'Groove Creations'- www.groove-creations.tk and you can find Aglaziator at myspace here- www.myspace.com/aglaziator
Europica was the last act to join Jokulhaups Records but quickly became many peoples favourites. It is the musical work of Bedford bass player Peter Romanowski and his collaborations with many friends. Europica is a glorious mix of upbeat reggae, with weaving brass melodies and heavy bass licks and electronic sequenced dance music. Europica has also had a lot of local internet airplay including The Crunch show (www.rfmk.co.uk). In an interview, Peter said ''The name came from the combining of Europe and Africa'' and this kind of sums up his music with its natural reggae roots and modern electronical efforts. Three tracks from Europica are available on the split CD with Aglaziator and Europica's collaboration with Jason Didner ''Will You Be My Brother'', is available on Jason's album 'American Road' (www.jasondidner.com). However Europica has now put up most of his music for download here: www.funender.com/music/europica

Michael of Epideme works within our ranks, yes. I'm Marcus and I play in 2 bands, a flute-violin-drums band called SOPHIE SCHOLL and a bass-drums band (No, it's not LIghtning Bolt) called LE CHAP.
7"s are great, you should try releasing a Madrid Axemen 7" - I WANT ONE NOWWW.
The new Europica track is well cool, much better than the stuff on your split CD. Keep up the good work, are you seeing the Dawn chorus this week? (Edd said something about them playing anyway, I don't know the full story). The Madrid Axe Men are playing at a youth club somewhere in LB tomorrow as well.
