JoKyR and Jesster
Utah's only international touring long form improv group. Producing intelligent comedy, energetic drama, and world class improvisational theatre at venues throughout Salt Lake City.
"JoKyR and Jesster" is Joseph Kyle Rogan and Jesse Parent, two of Utah's most prolific improvisers. Together they perform high stake, character driven improv with a combined experience of over 24 years and a combined weight of over 315 lbs.
While working side by side for two years as directors of the troupe Knock Your Socks Off (KYSOff), the duo quickly became sick of never getting stage time together. Joe and Jesse finally decided to perform as "JoKyR and Jesster" at the Utah improv jam Septemberprov in September of 2003, performing a duo format they call a Shellac to audience acclaim. A Shellac, now their signature form, is a high stakes long form driven by strong characters exploring thematic elements presented by conversational monologues that bookend the piece.
Striking a nomadic union, they have since brought their energetic and intelligent brand of improv to numerous venues throughout Utah and across the continent. While both men are married, they are not married to each other, contrary to popular belief and the gossip surrounding that "event" at the KYSOff Christmas party.
"JoKyR and Jesster" is primarily coached by Micki Jo Rogan, but have had additional coaching from Joe Bill and Jady Brooks, as well.
