Books
I will read anything, but very few books have ever moved me. The story “Wild Swans” by Hans Christian Anderson was my very first love, followed by “Peter Pan”. Mid elementary saw The Three Investigators, and in late elementary/early junior high I hit all the classics including Louisa May Alcott, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, etc etc (Many of which ended wrong in my opinion!). but it was “A Candle in Her Room” by Ruth M. Arthur that I read the most times. In late junior high I discovered Poe (which I know sounds silly because everyone has heard “The Tell Tale Heart” sixty tie by then, but I’m afraid that’s one of my least favorite of his stories) and VC Andrews “Flowers in the Attic” and “My Sweet Audrina”. Her writing was the first – and last - that moved me profoundly. Since then I’ve found lots of interesting or even funny books, but none that could immerse me the way those two did. Some include: Anne Rice’s “Vampire Chronicles, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams, Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, some Steven King, Star Wars books, “Good Omens” – Terry Pratchet/Neil Gammond, The Vampire Files by PN Elrod, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, The Moorehawk trilogy by Celine Kiernan (Awaiting book 3!!!) and lots of others, I’m sure.
Shades of Gray is the debut novel from Joleene Naylor.
After her friend is murdered Katelina is pulled into a world of violence, obsession, betrayal, and most of all vampires.
Whatever killed Katelina’s friend wasn’t human, but if it wasn’t an animal what else could it be? Katelina is about to find out that if you turn over the rock of reality you’ll find monsters underneath it; monsters called vampires.
But what do you do when the “monster” is so beautiful you can’t stop looking at him? Or when he’s your only hope against a coven of vampires that are hunting you because they think you’ve wronged them? Sure, maybe he saved your life, but how can you really trust someone who isn’t human? Katelina has no choice. She has to rely on Jorick to help her escape.
But no matter how far they run, death chases them until their only alternative is to turn around and fight. Trapped between light and dark, the pair must travel down a path of mystery and terror as their pasts are slowly revealed and their passions ignite. To survive, the two allies must join in an ancient power-struggle that could very well decide their futures and the fate of the vampire covens.

I am a freelance artist/photographer and have taken the leap to "indie author" with my Paranormal-Thriller/Romance “Shades of Grey”. I am working on two other projects, both of which are under working titles, as well as a graphic novel collaboration. because of this I may be slow in getting back to everyone.
To inquire about commissioning artwork please message me. Though I'm too full up to take on any extensive projects.
You might also enjoy some of my semi-regular features such as, Adventures in Boxed Dinners, Random MySpace Video of the Week, Random Artwork, Rambling Poetry, More Random Photos, Short Story Time, Total Randomness, CPCCC Collab Poems, and my participation in Alicia’s Group Blogging Experience.
You may also wish to read a selection of poems and short stories that have won awards on MySpace.
And if you're looking for NC-17 entertainment, I have posted all the chapters of my unpublished novel “Wednesday’s Child” about a teenage girl named Treelynn who runs away with a boy and finds herself trapped in a world of drugs, violence and confusion.
And don't forget to stop by The Word of the Day Blog every Tuesday for a spanking new Plaid Rainbow Cartoon Collab between myself and Jonathan Harvey!
Who I'd like to meet: As you can see from my status information I am married, and happily so. I am not seeking anyone to have an affair with – either in the cyber world or the real world. I am looking for friends and fellow artists/writers/readers.
Should you feel so inclined, here is code you can use to "pimp" me and my work.

"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself." - Og Mandino
Oprah says - "I think that when you invite people to your home, you invite them to yourself." But...."Actually, when you invite people to your home, you invite them to view your squeaky clean false persona. It's the reason you spent the whole day cleaning and hiding all the items that make you interesting. When the guest finally does arrive, your house looks nothing like the true you. You even give them a blast of false humility when they come in the door as you make the request that they excuse the mess" – Jonathan Harvey
"There are so many wonderful things in life to be afraid of it you just learn how scary they are." - The Tale of Despereaux
"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, the sea's asleep and the river's dream. People made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere uncertainty, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold.." Dr Who
"I am surrounded by idiots..." - Berg Katse, Gatchaman
