Jon’s Influences - Caedmon’s Call, Andrew Peterson, FFH, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Dave Mathews Band....those were my old school influences. my new ones are - Maroon 5, Marc Broussard, Shane & Shane, Jason Mraz, Nickel Creek. (anything vocally solid and acoustically funky: me likie)
Carrie’s Influences - Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethoven, Alanis M., Alicia Keys, Damian Rice, ee cummings, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald...really, just about everything i hear that i like goes into a little musical box in my head (figuratively speaking, of course). yeah, i just really like music.
Sounds Like
acoustic, funky, soulful, playful, jazzy, melodic, harmony-infused, ballad-included melange of sounds. how's that for a specific description, eh? (what do you think we sound like?)
We are Jon and Carrie Lewis. Moody, playful, dreamers, and thinkers, we've been makin' music together since 1999. We've been playing out at coffee shops, art cafes, festivals, conferences, weddings, and churches for a few years now. We have had some cool opportunities in the past few years. Carrie was one of ten finalists with her song "New Song" in a national song writing contest called God-Song. We also have been featured in an article in the Frederick News Post, and we were on a T.V. show called BackStage Pass that aired in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. We write because we have to; that we enjoy writing and performing is quite the bonus! We have a hopeful take on life, which infuses our music, and we love making people question and think with us through song. and... we hope you like how it sounds, too!
Hey, If you know of any other Chrisitan bands out there, please spread the word for me... that the site is great resource for them to promote themselves on the net and get gigs n' stuff....and for music lovers to find cool new Christian music...it's FREE!
Let them know about our monthly BATTLE OF THE BANDS contest... the winner gets music industry exposure each month.

Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human Trafficking. understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ... what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...
but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...
it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ... its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...
what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...
please reach deeply into your heart and soul and please in 2009 join a movement or become a part of an event that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ...
