Jonas Reingold is a multi-talented music man born in Uppsala, raised in Värmland but now resides in Lund ,Sweden.
He's a bass player, guitarist, producer and composer who started his career in 1986
in local bands. He got his master's degree in fine arts in 1994 at the Malmö
Academy of Music and has recorded with numerous musicians since then.
From fretted to fretless bass, from melodic symphonic /
progressive rock to classic rock, sophisticated jazz rock and fusion, Jonas
brings all styles to a level where his bass goes beyond simply being a rhythm
instrument.
He brings his bass up front to be a lead instrument.
To date Jonas has recorded over 100 studio albums, produced tons of albums/singles for other artists that reached both Gold and double platinum status and performed over 3000 live shows.
He has been a prominent member of the bands KARMAKANIC, THE FLOWER KINGS , THE TANGENT and the reunited KAIPA etc.
October 2009, now Jonas has released a recording with his retro fusion project,
the new "3rd World Electric" band with his buddy Roine Stolt, an album that feat. Dave Weckl and Zoltan Csörsz on drums, Karl Martin Almqvist - saxophone, Ayi Solomon - percussion, Lalle Larsson - piano & synth etc. .
The disc is available from Oct. 5th 2009 on Reingold Records
We had a carload of 6 for the Detroit Oct 13 show, and every one of us loves to go to lots of big and small concerts. And, as seasoned concert-goers, we all agreed that the "Power of Two" show was the concert of the year and then some...
Wonderful, impressive, emotional, funny, fantastic fun, monster musicians, ... you made us laugh, you made us cry, and everything in between.
Thank you so much. I am so sorry that Michigan couldn't gather better support for the show, but please know that we were a big Quality crowd, if not a big Quantity crowd. Most of my carload was musicians, and we know how it is to play for a mostly-empty house. Kudos for putting so much into the songs, I hope that we let you know how much we love your songs and your playing.
Great sound mix, great setlist, great jazzy, jamming prog rock. I am angry with the proggers in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, ... who were within range of this once-in-a-lifetime event, and couldn't make some effort to support some of the best in the business. Oh well, it's their loss!!
Thanks to Jonas and Roine, first of all, for putting this show on the road. Thanks for the emotional performances from lead vocalists Nad and Göran. What a powerful pair of voices. Wow! And thanks so much to Lalle for the truly amazing keyboards - new to me and my friends, but we are Lolle fans now and forever. Thanks to Nick for being the perfect "gun-for-hire" to fill Zoltan's drumming shoes - Not an easy drumming gig. But fun!!
Hi guys, hope the gig yesterday turned out a success! Anyway, good luck for the rest of the shows, Bergenkeller is up next! Take good care of each other. Hasse (HFMC, The Flower Kings)
Jonas. Thanks for the ad. Check out our site if you can for samples of our hook-laden prog release that your mate, Roine guests on as well as Randy George. Peace. Looking forward to the fusion project.
