Hey. My newest compositions are focusing on digital, quantizised aesthetics, with pulses and repetition, and are very much inspired by minimalistic concepts.
Regarding my overall approach to music, I believe that in the same way that the brain perceives and interprets physical measurable music parameters, like rhythm, tonality and harmony, more complex musical parameters exists and can be perceived*. I believe these parameters are responsible for musical experiences that seems to affect us in a deeper and more fundamental way, than what is caused by mere beats and tones. In my compositional work I try to investigate this "musical affection" trough sound experiments and intuitive, conceptual or non-conceptual compositions. My approach is not structured in a logic, reasonable progression, because I find it most unlikely that the phenomena I investigate follows human logic or structure. Instead i try to navigate by intuition.
* The way I see it, "timbre" refers to a number of physical parameters, which are practically impossible to define and separate. But I'm not sure that the parameters I refer to as "more complex parameters" are included in timbre. I suspect them to be of a more metaphysical character.
